RN Testing Question

i took the teas test before entering nursing school. it was required, and they also based entrance into the nursing program on the teas, among other things.

The licensure exam to become a RN in the US is called the NCLEX-RN. For LPNs, it's the NCLEX-PN. TEAS and NET are sometimes used by nursing programs for admissions purposes. It is not required everywhere. I took neither the NET or TEAS. Information on if and when you would need to take either the NET or TEAS would be provided by the nursing program you're interested in applying to.

It depends on the school you are applying for.

The NET is usually only used for entrance to nursing school. The LPN exam is the NCLEX-PN and the NCLEX-RN is for RN license

what does the teas question you on? also, what is this hesi exam i keep hearing about?

TEAS and NET are classes that test your knowledge before entering school. ATI and HESI are exit exams to test you before graduation. NCLEX is the actual test you need to get a license, and the only test actually required to be a nurse.

It all depends on the school or program you plan to attend some may have none,use the teas,net,or NLN exam for entrance. If you do plan on going don't take theses test lightly. Not that they are the hardest or most difficult.It's just that I have several friends who didn't study like they should have and didnt get into the nursing program over not wanting to buy the neccessary study materials. It just depends how much weight the test holds pertaining to your admission. You may pass the test but they might only want people in a certain percentile.
