RN new grad programs???

Published

Hi Everyone!

Does anyone know of any Chicago area hospitals that have new grad residency programs ,or how to find them? I want to specialize in oncology.

Thank you!

Jen

I know that Illinois Masonic has one. I'm not sure if they have one for oncology though. Good luck!

Hi!

Mt. Sinai has a RN residency program for sure...I work there...check out their website at http://www.sinai.org

Good Luck!

Weiss Memorial also has a new grad program. 12 weeks, paid classroom time with paid time off on fridays to hang out on the beach and share experiences about the program. They are also one of the few hospitals in Chicago that has a hiring bonus for new grads, plus tution reimbursement and loan repayment. I know it isn't one of the fancy hospitals but the few of the lake from the patient rooms is breathtaking.

UofC has a new grad residency program. Two years ago I started with 32 new grads from all different departments. It's 3 weeks classroom, plus 8-12 weeks precepted floor orientation (depending on unit), with monthly 4-hour class sessions with the new grad cohort for the first year of employment. I met a lot of young people new to nursing and new to the city, and I think it did make my first year a lot easier.

Specializes in OB.

ENH has a New Grad Internship Program....12 weeks of orientation. Fridays are considered classroom days and the rest of the orientation is unit-specific. Illinois Masonic I believe has a residency program as well.

Specializes in New Graduate.

Hey I am thinking of working at Mt. Sinai as a CNA, and then hopefully a nurse. I heard they pay about 12 dollars an hour to start? Does that sound right? Seems a little low to me...

Can you have an indiana cna license, and work at mt.sinai?
