You can start the process now since it will take awhile for everything to happen. What you will need to do is let the Healthcare recruiter know that you are moving to the triangle during the process so you can be placed in a NC unit. The HC recruiter will not care what unit you end up in as long as they get you in for their recruiting goal.

Good for you for wanting to serve your country! I would also suggest starting your application process now. I just swore in May 8th and it took over 2 years and 5 months! You could start by contacting an AMEDD healthcare recruiter in your new location. It’s a ton of paperwork, then a very throughout medical exam (MEPS) and more paperwork before your packet to ready to go to the nursing board that meets a few times a year. Good luck! ???

I am having hard time locating a medical recruiter for Air force reserve. Anyone happen to have a name and contact info?

Go to goarmy.com and look up jobs, then officer where you will find contact a recruiter. They are not very fast getting back to you. It can take a couple of months.

Use this website to find them. Make sure you search for healthcare professions recruiter because enlisted will likely not help. However, I do know of one but not sure if he covers the Carolinas. I'll PM you his info just in case (perhaps he knows of someone).

Like the above said start the process now! I just commissioned in May and it was about 14 months total (I’m army reserves). I’m still waiting on orders since May also! Covid happening didn’t help anything. good luck!

I just swore in in May also! Still waiting on orders to my unit. Did you get orders yet?

Be sure to speak to an AMEDD recruiter. As someone above said a regular recruiter will try to scoop you up. From my experience in the reserves there is very little to no new nursing skills learned. You direct commission with the skills of an RN. GL!
