Hello! This is my first time creating a thread 😊 Anyways I live here in Tampa, Fl and I'm gonna be starting classes at SPC. I'm looking at their required list of prereqs to enter the first phase of nursing. BSC 2085/BSC 2085 LAB, BSC 2086/BSC 2086 LAB, BASIC COMPUTER LITERATURE, & PSY. This maybe a stupid question but just to be on the sure safe side, if I complete these course with A's or B's could I still apply into the program and just finish thw rest of the prereqs (statistics and microbiology) while I'm doing nursing courses or do they expect for them ALL to be finished please tell me I'm new to this. Thank You All for your answers and support ðŸ™ðŸ˜‰

Why don't you call SPC (whatever that is) and ask them your questions? Only the school in question can give you a definitive answer.
Thanks, I just wanted to get someone elses point of view.

Usually "Required Prerequisite" means it needs to be done before you can apply to the program. There may also be "General Education" classes that need to be completed before you can graduate that you can do while in nursing classes.
The only way to know 100% is to call the school. Good luck.
Thank you so much! í ½í¸Š

"Prerequisite" means required before starting the program. Sometimes it has to be finished before you can even apply, other times they will accept it as long as you are finished before the program starts. Again, the only ones who can answer that for sure is the school.

It's been over 8 years since I did the pre-reqs but as long as it didn't change I'm pretty sure you can apply to the program without Micro & Stats BUT you have to have them done by the end of the first semester of the program.
The SPC website has all the admission requirements info on it. And there's a wait list so it's best to apply as soon as possible bc the wait list goes by GPA so basically everyone applying with the highest GPA will get in first. Some people wait years... Some never get in. Some decide to do private schools and some decide to do the LPN first!
I did my LPN first before I started pre-request and did them all while I was working as an LPN then got straight into the RN program at SPC. It was so much cheaper that way! Good luck!
Awesome thank you for that information! Gave me some hope ☺

You need to have all complete before entrance into the nursing field. They won't even accept your application if they arent complete. You can APPLY to the program without one class complete from pre reqs but must be COMPLETE when you start. More chance of getting in with all complete.

Just my words of wisdom. Don't rush to apply, finish everything that you can before you get in. You don't want to be doing theory and clinicals while your also taking micro. You want to most time possible to concentrate on your nursing courses so you can pass the nclex when your finished.
