To have a Philippine nurses license, one has to passed the NLE, Nurses Licensure Examination which is given nationwide twice a year. It is a paper and pencil test.

Crambs, are you suggesting that the NLE will be replaced with NCLEX-RN?

Well, that's good since NCLEX exam is very secured. Leakage problem will be avoided. However, it is impossible. The government will not allow it. Just imagine a batch of nursing graduate going to HK or Saipan in order to have their local board exam.

I don't think it'll be possible.

many people will wave the Flag of Nationalism and Patriotism...and ask how these nurses who did not take the NLE could possibly know what to do with the placenta.

:D

Sorry, but the NCLEX exam is not as secure as you think that it is.

What about the review courses that are held in Hong Kong just prior to the exam taking by a so-called infamous owner of a review center? And with questions and there choice of answers given to him by his students?

but that wasn't part of the choices.

my lecturers said banana tree.

and they wonder why almost 1/2 of our graduates fail the nclex.

too bad the prc stopped releasing the nle questions a few years ago.

hahahahaha, that is sooo funny! pinoy_guy, if i took nle, i guarantee you, with that type of questions they administer on local board? i would fail too!:chuckle

You place the what in what?

I think the banana thing you do in the CHN thingy...

The freezer?... I'm not so sure...

Another placenta story... back when i was still a student...

Had 5-7 charity mommies who were ready to go at the same time--- had their babies... you can imagine how hectic the DR was in this gov't hospital...when things settled down... it was found out that one of the mommies was a Moslem, asking for her placenta... and when the patient is a Moslem you have to give them the placenta... anyway, it ended up with the nurse's assistant digging into a vat of placentas and the Moslem mommy and the nurses not knowing if the placenta given to that patient, in layers of white plastic bag, was really the patient's... ewww.

Yeah, I think that CHN in the Philippines is really different and unique.

Oh well, I have a funny and a disgusting one regarding the placenta. When I was having my OB/DR duty in a small private hospital, they also stored the placenta in a freezer. We were not really allowed to open that freezer, but while I was looking for something, I accidentally did, and saw a container with smoked fish in the freezer on top of a whole bunch of placentas (that are stored inside a plastic bag)! Later on, I discovered that some of the staff kept their food in that same freezer where the placenta was stored-----ewww!!!!!

sorry to put a stop to the placenta stories, but can we please stick to the original topic. didn't see anything about placentas there.

thanks in advance.:balloons:

Is this true- if you take the NCLEX and pass it, you could get a license in the Ph just by showing your score. No need to take the NLE.
