Welcome to AN! You may want to try taking a look around the Nursing in Canada forums- while I don't have any familiarity with Canada's RN licensure, I think there have been a few posts in the past that may have the information you're looking for.

Have you checked out the provincial college's website?

CLPNA does nothing quickly. Our yearly renewal date is December.
Do you have a lead on a job?
AHS is still under a hiring freeze, every vacancy, is triple checked to see if it needs to be filled.
Private sector isn't much better unless you have experience.

I was looking at the careers postings the other day and saw one I wanted to apply for, but I was at work and didn't want to do it from a work computer. I went to do it the next day from home and the posting, which had a closing date of June 29th, was gone. It hasn't reappeared. So either it was decided that the position wouldn't be filled, or the person they posted it for had his/her application in and they closed it earlier. No way of knowing which. And that's how it works with AHS. Covenant Health has restricted almost all of their nursing postings to internal applicants. Times are tough for everyone, not just those not already within the system.
