im in the same boat. im planning to apply in saskatchewan but i dont have employer since employer here in Philippines do require 1-2 yrs hospital experience. What happened to your application? need help here . . .

hi!!! I have received a package enclosed are the CRNE application form and the grad nurse license form. the thing is, i don't know what step to take next. i mean, if I intend to take the exam around June 2009 and plan to be in Canada around Feb, what do i do first? By the way, I am currently in the Philippines, and the province of Saskatchewan sent me the package a week ago. I just don't know whether I need to apply for a visa or what. Please help me

You need the grad nurse licence from the first day of your employment, not earlier since it's only good for 4 months.

Do you have an employer???

If you have an employer they will send you the necessary documents to apply for a temporary work permit.

If you don't have an employer you could try to apply for an immigrant visa via the skilled worker route, but there are many requirements to meet (enough money for instance), suggest you check this out with immigration Canada.

Plus to say, do you have any job experience at all?? Without that, employment in Canada is highly unlikely.

Personally I think you should look for a employer and discuss your options. Generally they are looking for nurses with experience but we are also seeing a lot of nurses from the Philippines having to go through a SEC assessment

can i do it my way since there's no employer will accommodate me because of my 0 experience? completing my requirements to saskatchewan, apply for visa in immigration of canada here, go there and take my crne ,then go back after and wait for the result here in Philippines. . .

In what way are you going to apply to immigration? Most require a employer, even if going the PNP route you need a employer.

Yes you can go to Canada and sit the exam and return back to the Philippines but a lot will depend on the province college and their assessment on your training and when they give you eligibility to sit CRNE. Even if you get as far as passing CRNE employers may still look for experience so only way to find out is talk to them

Im talking to saskatchewan and will contact later the immigration of canada.

I dont want to be caught in the middle and later on find myself trap in the situation.

I think i will have my papers assess first by the saskatchewan then maybe employers will be a bit interested if I will meet the criteria set by saskatchewan in taking CRNE?

Getting the OK from the college will definitely make things easier when looking for a employer. Doing a lot of the legwork yourself shows how committed and interested you are in working there. The paperwork for immigration is very simple to complete but you do need a employer and a LMO which the employer has to provide. At some stage you will then be required to have a medical before your work permit is issued. All can be done in the country you are living in.TWP is issued when you and but the embassy you applied to will give you a letter stating you meet requirements and they have given the OK for you to move to Canada

I really appreciate your time reading and answering all my question.

I'll start my papers by having it evaluated so I will have the idea on what's the next step. . .

I already have cgfns, nclex, visa screen and ielts but due to the retrogression that will take 5 years or more I am now considering canada. It's not that canada is my second choice but what I just want is to widen my horizon in nursing and with canada, i know my experience will be good and i'll be a very good nurse in terms of competency. Due to congestion of nurses in Philippines I cant see my future here, for a reason that its really difficult to look for jobs, low salary, and with very little benefits. Besides I want to meet people of different race and learn their culture.

If you have any other tips regarding----> "applicant wants to sit in CRNE with zero experience for dummies"------> Just Let me know.

There are many threads in the Canadian forum on the CRNE and study I would say don't go overboard and buy too many books. The exam is very different to NCLEX so forget everything about that exam and start a fresh.

Hi, i've been trying to read post messages here but none would answer my curiousity. Just wondering if anyone has requested the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC) to send to CRNBC the certification of passing board exam/etc in leiu of the License Verification? Reason why i am asking is because, the license/card takes 5-6 months for it to be released from PRC which is too long since im trying to target to take the Oct 2009 exam (granted my requirements are complete by then). Instead, i DO have a copy of the certification that i passed exam. I understand that it has to be sent institution to institution not from ex. to CRNBC from PRC staff themselves (no problem). But can they send the "certification" of passing the board exam instead? that way i dont have to wait too long for the license card?(w/c is a requirement for the CRNBC form for license verification) Hope i am not confusing you...

Anyway, Pls reply....Suzanne? Premium members? :-( So bothered by the wait. Anyone who has the same dilemma as me? Truly appreciate any of your thoughts on this. Thank you.

Hi Jafrn, thank you for your reply....If it does answer my question? not really...hehe What i meant was, besides me passing the exam, i DID/have registered with them last first week of March. But what they're releasing or can be released now is just the certification that you have passed the exam. And they won't accept the CRNBC application form for Licence verification unless you hold the license card itself which the releasing of all license card starts yet approximately 5-6 months from now(accdg. to PRC staff)...For me , thats too much of a wait. (If i have no choice , i would have to) But going back to my question, is there now way to fast track this? HAs anyone tried applying with special consideration? I dont mind paying additional fees with PRC (if there is such a thing) if there is a fast track section. I just dont have that luxury of time to wait for 5-6 months.. Im just trying my luck here and see if theres anyone who had/has the same dilemma as me.
