Quitting after 6 months

Published

I started working at a Home Health Care company as a CNA/ Aide about 6 months ago. Right after I started, I found out that I was accepted into the BSN program at my school and I started that in January. I cut back on hours at work, and they have been very understanding. Now school is picking up and I'm having a hard time balancing nursing school, work, and extracurriculars.

I want to quit so I can focus on school, but I am worried this might look bad to future employers because I only worked for 6 months. Is this a bad idea?

No. Employers are going to understand, and appreciate, your prioritizing schoolwork. Just be certain you give appropriate notice, and THANK the employer for the opportunity (NEVER burn bridges- healthcare is a very small world).

Nope. Not an issue.

Is per diem an option for you?

I quit 2 CNA jobs within that time frame to focus on school, and it has not affected RN employment opportunities for me.

I agree. I don't think it will be an issue because it's for school. Just give proper notice.

I bet you will still be able to pick up work for them during school breaks.

Think about doing per diem
