Sorry that no one from your area has answered your question yet. From my perspective, the payrate for CNA's varies from area to area. In some places within Florida, payrates can be around 9-10 per hour while in other areas (like Miami/Dade for example), the payrates might be significantly higher. I would recommend that you go on to monster.com and do a salary search ... perhaps you will get a decent answer from them. In addition, I am sure others from the area will be along soon and can post an answer to your question.

Good luck.

Hey I am about a month away from being a CNA. I live in the Central FL. area and I too had problems finding out the salary for new CNA's but from what I found out the pay is higher in S FL. than central and it varies from 8.50 to 12 per hr depending on if you work nights/weekends, in a hospital or long term care (they seem to pay more) I am aiming for a major hospiatl in Orlando and i am willing to work the nightshift and pick up overtime...bills still need to be paid

Also you may want to call up some staffing agencies and she how much they are paying...hope i helped some

I live in West Palm Beach, FL and am currently working as a Nurse Associate (same as a PCA, except nursing students make more $ and have a little more responsibility than PCAs). Anyway, I started out making $13.25 an hour and now make $14.00 an hour. I work 2 12 hour shifts a week.

I would highly recommend this job to any nursing student. Yeah, I don' get to do tons of nursing stuff, but the patient contact is invaluable. You will feel so much more comfortable with patients than your fellow classmates and will also get a chance to see what REAL nursing is all about, not just the stuff you learn in the skills lab!!

Good luck

Lisa

where were you working at in west palm beach i plan on moving over there and needed info as a cna

I live in Tampa Bay area and am in NS working as a PCT (pretty much the same as a CNA) and make 11.88/hr

I've been a CNA for about 5 months now, I live 20 minutes from Tampa and make 9.25 and 11.25 on sat and sun. I have also found out that once you have worked for a year you get a raise, and plus 9 is what they start new cnas with where I work. Talk about overworked and underpaid.

***where is the delete option? I tried to delete this and couldn't***

What facility do you work at? And is that the base pay rate, with no experience?
