I had a phone interview last Monday, and I was told they'd let me know either way in a week to a week and a half if I can come in for a 2nd interview. It's Friday (12 days later) and I haven't heard anything. Should I call the recruiter and inquire?
Thanks for any guidance!

Go ahead and call. Just tell them when you interviewed and that you are following up. No harm in that.

Ah don't you just hate the wait? I would call to follow-up. Does not hurt to call.

Follow up with them. I've had times were they've forgotten the 2nd interview stage because they're still interviewing new recruits for the 1st stage.

I would definitely follow up. They may still be interviewing the first batch of people but be prepared also to possibly hear they have already filled the position. Unfortunately, sometimes when they say they will call either way, they don't mean it.
Good luck and I hope you get good news!
Okay... thanks for the advice... now I'm just plain scared! Here goes!

It will be o.k.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Ugh... had to leave a message, and that was 5 hours ago... still waiting!

Feel your pain; I'm playing the post-phone interview waiting game too. Why is it that everyone in the world calls other than the HR person you're hoping for? And then suddenly it's Friday and you know you have two more days of agony before there is any hope of a call...
Best of luck to you! :)
FINALLY! I got a call back today. I pretty much had given up hope! I was asked to come in for an interview with the hiring manager. My prayers have been answered! Now I start praying that the in-person interview goes well. Wish me luck and send positive vibes! I think it will be on Wednesday.
It will go well. We are all behind you. Lots of good vibes your way.:)
Yay! The interview went really well. Luckily I had a way to relate to the manager, and I brought along two papers from nursing school that we were able to start off talking about (since I gave it to him in a stack with my resume right off the bat). I think that helped me stand out a bit.
I asked several good questions of him as well. I gave a thank-you note to the secretary to pass along to him.
I was the last of 3 to be interviewed... so I should know early next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
