Meth is destroying communities
This drug is everywhere, all small town America!! It is not just kids, it is CEO of companies, loosing wife, kids, home and vacation home, job, cars and everything to this drug, The FEDS could get rid of this if they would just get the one known ingredient out of America...The ingredient is Ephedra... in most sinus meds. In our state now you have to sign your name for sinus meds. This is a horrible epidemic and has been for yrs and people are JUST NOW noticing it!!! MY OPINION--- America is LAUGHED AT BY MOST COUNTRIES--- because we love drugs so much!!!! And Also have HOMELESS!!! Which is another subject!!! My blood is boiling now... better quit writing...

Have you ever taken care of a famous pt?
Ha reminds me of once taking care of a famous "Hells Angel" big big guy, someone had tried to kill... 6ft7 long braided hair... but the nicest and most modest guy I believe I had ever taken care of.. All his Motorcycle friends would come on Harley/choppers and visit needless to say they would park where ever they wanted outside , be it flower bed etc. then proceed to pick the flowers and come up to visit him.. they were all 6ft6 and over and leather pants/vests, with the chains hanging from their waists, tattoes like crazy. very scary looking but nice to the nurses and doctors, and were determined to find out who tried to "Kill " their Buddy..Ahh the memories of Nursing.....

Have you ever taken care of a famous pt?
Ha.. reminds me of the time I took care of a "very Important" Prisoner.. who had a big BALL and heavy CHAIN around his ankle,,, and the other leg was chained to the bed. we had to get the guard to release the chained leg but he had to drag the ball and chain with him to the bathroom.Talk about a thug thug on the floor. I also took care of a famous Hells Angel once .. who was the nicest patient I believe I ever had..6ft7 , braided hair to waist.. I actually braided his hair for him.. all his friends drove up on chopper/Harleys Parked where ever they wanted proceeded to walk into the hospital , taking flowers from any flower vase they could see and came up to our floor to visit him.. was funny to see the hysteria in some people.. most of them were VERY mean looking with black leather, hugh boots and chains hanging from pockets.. The very Hell's angels look... most were 6ft 6 and over.. and very big..could absolutely take care of themselfs...Ahh the memories of Nursing...

I had an MI on Tuesday
Hope you are doing much better! Dont even think all of it was your fault by lifestyle etc. We are human.. My Husband and I were avid walkers and he started having trouble walking, stated to me his low back hurt. We had the docs checking for ruptured disc.. and guess what? He had NO pulse in his right foot at all!!! so there you go..None of us (even the doc's ) thought it was Vascular.. he was having so much Low back pain...We all have symptoms and dont add 2+2... so dont blame you...Get well soon...

Over 20 years at the hospital, left and not even a "thank you"????????
I guess just because I am in a bad mood today, I say Also "Let the nursing Profession fall to the wayside" Just like Policemen, firefighters, teachers, we are the ones who care but the ones that get the least "RESPECT" I cared for so many yrs . It took me yrs to learn that my company did not care for me. And it was a shocking "Lesson".....

GA Baptist College of Nursing!!
Honestly, I am glad you read the post I sent, I worked as LPN for long time, and the Ga Bapt. nurses really were the greatest... every time we hired one we automatically just knew it.. they get tons of on hands experience and that means so much more than the book theory. They always seemed very calm , collected and just knew what they were doing, no crying, nervous "New Nurse Jitters" They all seemed very Mature and seemed to love nursing. No complaints from any of them. I have worked with nurses that came from other schools that honestly had never inserted a cath. They thought nursing was sitting at the desk answering the phone with long false fingernails. They always got nervous when they had to call the Doctor about something, But not the Ga. Bapt. nurses they just grabbed the chart , called the Doctor took things in their own hands and never complained.!! THey are honestly the best that have ever been put out there.!!!I wish I could have gone there, but went to LPN school , had a family and just worked for yrs. Never got the chance to go back for R.N. I am now 53, have arthritis and am not working. I absolutely love nursing, but seen the change over the yrs. Go for it,, you will be Great, especially at that school. Like I said, I do not work for them, have no connection to them . But if you like you could save this for one of your instructors when you get to know them.I think they would be proud the know that we always loved their nurses. And always knew we were getting the best. Good Luck.. Weezer

You know you work nights when.......
Years ago, I had the long hair, Cher look, worked nights and slept during the day or "tried " anyway, my doorbell was ringing like mad one day and I got up and swung the door open and yelled "What"... it was a lady from RedCross... needless to say she left after some mumble,,, as I went back to bed,,,, I stopped by the bathroom to pee,,, and gosh,,, I looked like a witch!!!! Long matted hair, scraggly old gown, and big dark circles of Mascara all around my eyes!!!!

Over 20 years at the hospital, left and not even a "thank you"????????
Just my opinion , I think they will do you the same way.. I had the same thing happen to me after 32yrs service, but they did not even ask me to turn in my badge, I was on medical leave and they just terminated me, because after 9mos they can just do that.. I also was well respected , had perfect evaluations etc. The fact of the matter is " They dont care " .. They just need someone to take care of their patients.! Thanks for listening. I still cry also.. and am suffering from arthritis in both knees, wonder why I have arthritis in my knees????
