  1. for stat: i wold recommend this: [h=1]Statistics for Evidence Based Practice in the Health Sciences[/h]University of Rochester Statistics for Evidence Based Practice in the Health Sciences - Event Summary | Online Registration by Cvent
  2. I hope all is well with you. Will pray for your successful journey.
  3. I contacted a few MDs that work in the hospital. I brought up the subject of precepting and if they agreed the school will give them a list of the things I am allowed to do.
  4. I have been looking at online schools for a while. Actually paid 2 application fees but both require me to submit a list of primary care clinics I am planning to rotate for the 11 week (yes even if it's 1 yr from now). I asked around and still waiting for them to reply. So let me know how it goes with you. But ask them what assisting means? Good luck.
  5. I agree with your adamRn79. .....Assisting is different from finding a preceptor. Are you currently enrolled with Simmons?
  6. Hi Tasha, Do you know how they arrange your clinical preceptors? Do you have to go to Boston to take the clinical/precepting part? I find it hard to look for preceptor in my area should I decide to do it online, what is your plan?
  7. Hi! from what state are you? Can you refer me to your agency? I got with me all pass results NCLEX (FLA), IELTS Visa Screen but afraid to get duped by agency but i have 2 months only of experience . Hope to hear from you soon.
  8. hi suzane, i've been following your advice regarding this matter. before i went here i had taken my english exams, submitted my transcripts for visa screen. now i learned i pass my nclex from state of florida, how would i notify ichp/ visa screen that i pass when a card can not be issued because i think i dont have sss number yet (am a fil tourist) or that it will take bon 4 weeks to give you a license. and with retrogression looming again, i want to know if a certification of some sort from the bon can be issued to atleast notify ichp that indeed i pass that's the only item left for my visa screen certifcate to be issued - a pass on nclex. second, once its been issued, can i endorse in california. am living with my sister here in fl but shes going to transfer back to ca? do you know of any company that sponsor nurses. hoping for a reply. i got this far already with your help. am at the point i dont know whatto do next. i learned that its the visa screen that employers would look for, am like in a chicken or egg problem of what do first? thanks
  9. hi starbin thanks for the quick reply. am actually in fl just took the exam last week got the results 2 days ago and requested bon to forward to cgfns. so i can seek job in ca and endorse whatever papers i have without waiting for my hard license from florida. i just know they wont give me one until i have an sss but since am not planning to work here anyway, might as well transfer to ca. did i get you right?
  10. I forgot to mention, i initially registered for NEW YORK (as i read from the forum), and FL but FL responded earlier so i tried my luck here. Can i still use my New York application? Or can i even refund it? I filed my application last December. thanks
  11. Dear Suzanne, I recently pass my FL Nclex, am done with my IELTS too and filed for my Visa Screen- the status is awaiting NCLEX which i fwd alread. Im about to look for an agency or employer to work for. By the way am a Filipino new grad RN so i dont have that much experience. I read in past few posts what to look for in a contract etc. Can you recommend a lawyer- pls email me. Second, am thinking of seeking endorsement in CA. Is that possible even if i dont have my SSN yet nor my hard license. The reason is my sister is going to transfer to CA and it would be cheaper for new grad RN to live with someone who has been here for a long time. Can i seek endorsement to CA and have all my VISASCREEN process once i get an employer or do i have to get an SSS and hard license where i initially registered (FL). My sister told me i need to get employer here in FL to get sss filed on my behalf and wait for my contract to expire before i can move to CA- is this true? IF that wont be possible, im in the FL area im close to Sarasota and Punta Gorda Area, would you recommend a hospital that petitions intl nurses. I saw an agency and read their contract and not attractive. Im thinking i went all the way here and paid for everything on my behalf- i want to do things fair. Im just not confident with agency. Am also looking for Hospital that have good orientation for new grad RN, any recommendation pls. Are you recommending that if i do a hospital to sponsor me , it will be better if i get my own lawyer etc so that in the event that i backed out or i need to transfer state i can do so easily. Thanks waiting for your advice.
  12. Thanks i understand now. So 60 days + 4 1/2 months right? Followup question, while my paper is being processed and my 6 months is over , do i have to leave the country or it is ok to stay as long as your EAD is on process. My husband has a tourist visa, is it advisable for him to join me physically in the US when i filed for an adjustment or better for him to wait in the Phils. Whts your best advice? Thank you so much .... You dont know how much your reply means to us...Thanks again
  13. Dear Suzanne, I have a question regarding adjustment of status. I will be in Florida to take NCLEX next month ( i have a tourist visa) . If i pass, and an employer filed for adjustment of status, how long is the process? During this period of adjustment, will i be on valid status if the process will take more than 6 months? Can i work while waiting for my adjustment if i pass nclex and everything has been filed? Hoping for your prompt reply.: thanks.
  14. Hi! Of course i have no intention of overstaying that is why i want to plan ahead and make sure that i do my homework. I have a multiple entry visa which i ve used many times and have no intention of overstaying because that will make matters worst. 1. Anyway, are you saying that i do my processing here until my VISA SCREEN comes out? So correct me if I'm wrong but it doesnt seem to do any advantage if you have a tourist visa on hand. I heard that processing will be much faster if the foreign nurse resides in US than in Manila. Now i have a toursist visa but i dont think i can really use it to fasttrack my application. 2. I have lay out a mini-plan,following your advise to take NY board for 1st time foreign nurses. Just let me know if this is ok: by December i plan to take my english exams, then by March i plan to take my NCLEX and hopefully submit my application for VISA Screen. Once i have my VISA SCREEN, is it then ok to go to US, say New York, look for an employer then they will take care of my adjustment. Is this the track that you will prefer me to take, if not, what is your suggestion. In other words, do all the processing in my home country until i get my visa screen. Sorry for involving you into so many details, i have no one to ask... ANd what about my spouse (he has a multiple entry toursit visa too), at what point can i include him in the application process- once i have my Visa screen. Does he need to be in the US as well when AOS is filed by employer? Your reply here will probably answer all the questions i have in mind... Thank you again... I will write again to inform you of my progress... God bless you!!! You are an inspiration...
