i can't get a job...
syhone2005 Don't where you live but if anywhere in WV I can hook you up with at least six places needing RN's and four looking for LPN's. I work for three different hospitals as a RN. And we can sureuse the help in all three. About half of one place I work is new grads with no experience.

Exasperated...! 5th rejection?!?
Furmangirl I don't know if you want to go out of state to anursing school. If so the one I went to in Parkersburg WV is part of WVU. They are not as fixed on GPA rating as much as what you bring to the nursing field. I a had students in my class that had a GPA 2.5. She was one of the best student nurses on the floor. Because she cared about her pt's not what her grade were as long as she was passing. She passed boards the first try. A couple of the 3.8 and 4.0 failed boards. Good luck and would welome you to WVU.

How much info can past employers hand out?
Most employers don't tell why you were fired unless it was indangerment of a pt or co-worker. But if ask the best thing is tell why you were fired. It happen to me when I was a LPN afew years ago. I I was ask why I got fired. I told the the nursemanger that was inviewing me that I got fired for telling a nursemanger where to get off her backside(did not use them words) if I was not answering lights fast enough. It turned out to be her sister-in-law that was inviewing me. Ended up working for her six years. Goes to show honsety is best. Not sure where you freind is but where in Spencer WV we need good LPNs.

Should I get a CNA prior to nursing classes?
Hi FoxyRoxy21, I started out as a CNA then LPN now RN. I think it gives you a better understanding of whats going on around you. It helps you respect the people you work with. I think all nurse should start as CNA first. Good luck no matter what you do.

Aspiring LPN
Hi Aspiring LPN The best way is to find a hospital that will send you to school and let you work for them. After you get done with school that way you have a job and they get a great LPN at the same time. That how I did it here in WV when I started out in nursing. Then later they might send you back to school for your RN. Good luck!!

Please tell me I will have time with patients
I been in nursing for ten years now. The first as a LPN now RN. You can alway make time for your pt's. It might mean giving up your lunch break, what more important lunch or making some feel that they are important. Me I have missed a lot of lunchs. Just do what your heart tells you is right.
