Adventist White Memorial New Grad RN Residency (March)
They asked how I felt about a 5 year commitment during the panel interview but I never had to actually sign a physical contract.

$750 CA RN License??? No way!
I paid about $100 total for my initial license in Pennsylvania, and then $420 to endorse to California ($350 for application fee, $70 for Livescan).

Adventist White Memorial New Grad RN Residency (March)
I wanted to start a thread for all those who were accepted into AHWM's New Grad RN residency program with the March start.

Nursing prerequisites
Both A&P and Microbiology are classes that many nursing programs will not accept online courses of. Additionally, I have heard of the CA BRN rejecting endorsement applications (from out-of-state applicants) due to applicants taking Micro without a lab component. I would double-check with your nursing programs of interest to see if they do in fact, accept online courses.

Late to clinical
Have multiple alarms in different locations. I have my alarm clock next to me, and multiple alarms set on my cell phone that I place somewhere across the room. This way, I physically have to WAKE UP, GET UP, and WALK over to my phone to turn it off. Otherwise, it will keep ringing until I do so.

If you could give one piece of advice back when you were a new grad RN, what would it be?
As a new grad RN myself, I am always curious about what experienced nurses would want to tell a younger version of themselves. If you could give one piece of advice back when you were a new grad RN, what would it be?

Most Burned Out Nursing Specialties?
Hello allnurses, I recently came across a report by Medscape that surveyed 15,000 physicians and outlined the highest rates of burnout by medical specialty (https://www.medscape.com/slideshow/2018-lifestyle-burnout-depression-6009235). This got me wondering, is there a report similar to this for nursing? What are your picks anecdotally for most burned out specialties and why?

Worst Nursing Scrub Color Worn?
Bright yellow as a student! The only positive for wearing bright yellow scrubs was when our clinical groups met for the 1st time each semester, our professors could easily point us out amongst all the other schools that usually wore more common colors (e.g. Navy, Black).

New Grad RN in California with 4 different unit offers, seeking opinions on which to choose?
Hello allnurses, I am located in California and graduated with my BSN last September. It's no secret the struggle that is finding your 1st RN job after graduation, especially in California and just as I was mentally and emotionally preparing to have to leave the state, I was fortunate enough to be offered a position in 4 different units. The problem is, I like all 4 and don't necessarily have a preference. The units are: General TelemetryCardiac TelemetryStroke TelemetryMed/Surg OrthoMy overall goal at the moment is just to become a safe and competent nurse and learn as much as I possibly can. I know there is no such thing as a "best unit" and I will learn a lot wherever I go. However, I wanted to seek your opinions on what YOU would personally choose and perhaps share your thoughts if you have any personal experience on one of the respective units.

UC Davis New Grad Residency 2019
Hi! I've applied to the program. I was born and raised in Sacramento, went to UCD for my undergraduate degree then moved to Philadelphia for an ABSN program, which I graduated from in September, then got my license endorsed from PA to CA shortly after in October. Best of luck to everyone!

Drexel ACE Fall 2017
I was accepted to the 11 month program but if I recall correctly, the portal stated that we have 60 days to submit the deposit.

Drexel ACE Fall 2017
I just wanted to provide an update to this post. I submitted my A&P I grades from Fall semester (A+), and my application status went to being on hold to being accepted! I am in my last pre-req, A&P II right now so it is a conditional admission assuming I finish this class but barring any unforeseen circumstances, I'm planning on moving from California and attending Drexel next fall!

Drexel ACE Fall 2017
Hello all, I checked my application portal yesterday to find that I had a status update and discovered that the admissions committee could not render a decision on admission and wanted to wait until I had more pre-requisite courses completed. Out of the list of pre-requisites required, I am missing A&P I and A&P II, and am currently enrolled in the former and plan on taking the latter next semester in the Spring semester. I e-mailed Fran and she replied and let me know that the admissions committee will not usually render a decision if they have not taken: - A&P I/A&P II - General Chemistry - Microbiology With all that said, Fran said they would make a decision on my application once they receive the grade I receive in A&P I at the end of this Fall semester. The fact that they haven't outright rejected me still gives me hope and I plan on killing it in A&P I the rest of the semester (currently have an A) and go all out! Hope this information is useful for anyone in a similar situation.

Duquesne Second Degree BSN - Class of 2017
Congrats on the acceptances everyone! How long did it take after applying to get a response from Duquesne? I submitted my application/transcripts the week before April 1st and received confirmation that my application was complete on the 4th and have not heard anything yet.
