  1. Just curious, since I'm coming up on my first exam for the first semester, how hard is it? I'm just curious, because I've been reading everything and studying like 12 hours a day. Am I overdoing it?
  2. I'm 40 points and no memo and I got the call today!!
  3. What did you guys submit with your applications? You don't need the background check yet, right?
  4. We need that after we are accepted, right? We didn't need those for the application did we? My advisor didn't mention those for the application.
  5. Were we supposed to have turned in a background check, TB test and other immunization records with our application? I did not see that anywhere on the check list.
  6. 40 full time and no memo
  7. I just applied to your page. I'm applying with 40 points. I'm a bit nervous myself!
  8. I couldn't even make it past your first question where you made the mistake of using your instead of you're. :)
  9. Indeed! However, after the nursing program I would love the 7 P.M to 7 A.M shift. Natural night owl here :)
  10. Thank you for the responses!
  11. How many days a week are clinicals usually?
  12. lol same here I love how you stated it, though :)
  13. My classmate took online A&P, and she stated that it was harder.
  14. Perhaps try meditation. Sometimes over studying can be detrimental. Also, the science nerd in me laughed at the fact that after you mentioned chemistry you talked about solutions.
  15. I was talking to a fellow classmate today and she told me that a friend of hers in the nursing program gets up at 4:30 A.M in order to be early for clinicals. My question is, what time do you all start your clinicals at? Does it start at 5:30 and you are there at 5 AM? She stated he was in an accelerated program, though. I'm just curious how normal that is. I'm just wondering because that seemed rather odd to me to be there at 5 A.M and finish at 5 P.M or so.
  16. I dislike weed. I barely tolerate alcohol. So, no, I won't be celebrating 420 now or when I'm a nurse.
  17. I am just wondering if there is anyone out there who is working as a nurse that has a history from a long time ago of stripping and a couple of nudes? It's in my past and by the time I'm licensed it will have been over ten years ago. I'm a different person now by far. I always read about strippers here in Nevada being nurses as well. There is also an actual Media star who is working as a phlebotomist here and is open about it. It is attached to my real name due to a troll/stalker exposing it on an instagram page. I'm sure if I get a lawyer they would take down the page, but so far instagram has been playing dumb. I just don't want to live in fear that if it surfaces again that I'll be fired or feel like I have to hide it.
  18. I have to agree with this poster. If all it took was a few people on a messageboard to discourage you from the career - you should probably choose another one. I am willing to do any and everything (that is legal - don't get any ideas) to achieve my dream of becoming a nurse. It wouldn't matter what anyone said to me - I know I will get there. That's the kind of attitude you are going to need to make it.
  19. What photo? I didn't post the photos they are trying to expose on my instagram. Those photos were posted by other people and not me.
  20. I didn't post the photo on instagram. People posted 10 year old photos of me on a message board that was linked to my old screen name and that is how they found it.
  21. They got my geo location off of my instagram and posted my address/real name/college on a message board just by using my geo location (I didn't have that information on it) and then proceeded to find my username from another instagram account I had, which I don't know how they got that because I didn't have any link to that name, and used that to get my photos/personal information and make the instagram account with it. Who would I file a complaint with?
  22. By the time I'm out of school it will have been over 10 years ago, and no, I was about 19 in them. I remember reading an article about a judge where I live having worked as a prostitute before she decided to turn her life around. I was never a prostitute, but, I'd like to think that considering where I am that my past photos won't be that big of a deal. I wouldn't be surprised if they did either. It seems more common place than ever now. Which to me seems a bit unfair, since how someone is in private isn't necessarily going to tell a potential employer that the person is going to be a horrible employee. I feel as if there should be a law stating that someone has a right to what information google can link to about them - as long as it isn't them trying to hide criminal activity about themselves. If it's photos from a decade ago that someone is trying to use against them - then that should be taken down imho.
  23. Considering where I live - when I googled it - there were no moral turpitude clauses in getting a nursing license here. Would it even matter if say Instagram doesn't respond (I've contacted them a dozen times reporting it already) and it stays up? I think I'm going to hire one of those branding sites if need be as well as a lawyer. I am actually considering filing a police report so that I may sue the person for defamation and they even went so far as to try contacting my family members through instagram, etc. The person who did this doesn't even know me - they were just mad at me over a message board. I think whoever it is needs to have legal action sought upon them to teach them a lesson that you don't do this to people over something as stupid as a message board. I know that if I were to get a lawyer then instagram would be forced to give me the information to the person so that I may serve them or their parents, and that no proxy is going to hide their real I.P address from the real authorities. Honestly, though, I don't like hiding my past, and really I'd rather not have the feeling of always being afraid of my job finding out something and firing me over it. So, maybe it's best to find a hospital that doesn't care so that I don't have to worry about it. After all, it's not who I am anymore.
  24. So, without going into detail I am currently an honor student enrolled at my community college and pursuing a nursing degree. Unfortunately about eight years ago I took nude (not really nude but sexually suggestive) photos of myself and now have someone trying to ruin my life with them by attaching my real name to those photos by means of instagram and a few message boards I used to post at and it is showing up in google search results because of it. Am I never going to get hired because of what this vindictive and childish person did? Even though I have not taken or sent out photos like that recently and these photos are eight years old?
