Bad Flu Shot?
Well I'm glad to see that the pain in my arm from the flu shot just wasn't in my head. The injection itself wasn't painful but I did notice pain in my arm and shoulder enough to wake me up at night. I also received the injection from the employee health nurse like I do every year. Now that was back on November 10 and my arm is still sore. Gee I wonder what gives!!!!!!!!!!!!

NICU certifications?
Also if you can take the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program. It's great. It picks up where NRP stops. I love NICU. Hope you will too!

A little scared
I worry about those nurses with no fear. We were dicussing it in the unit one day when the seasoned Neo stated there is always the element of fear for him too. You never know about any deliveries. I've been hit hard by some that were suppose to be "nothing". Perhaps fear isn't the right word. Perhaps cautious would describe it better. Always have that element of caution. Be prepared for the worst then you won't be caught unexpected. Welcome to our world! Best of Luck

What punishment should this nurse get?
Reading this thread reminds me of the saying....."we eat our young".

NICU dislikes
I think part of the problem with parents is the feeling they get of lose control. Most of the time (and sometimes it doesn't work) if I can get them involved in as much choices and infant care as possible, the parents become easier to work with. And that all is to the better for the infant
