Hello, Does anyone have any experience going from a med-surg background to a long term acute care hospital? There are a few positions open in my area and I'm considering applying, the pay is higher than my current position but the acuity is also high...

I am new to dialysis as well, I too am a bit disillusioned. I would like to do Acutes but the on-call requirements don't sound doable with a family and young children. The turf wars between techs and nurses are really disheartening.

I signed up for ENP as well and haven't heard anything. I'm seriously wanting to transfer to a school that provides preceptors.

You typically need at least 1 year of experience before you can work PRN or Oncall. Keep that in mind.

Also, have you decided if you'll work full-time or not? I'm going back and forth between working part-time or full-time, it'll really depend on the work load I suppose.
