I spoke with my adviser a few weeks ago and she said that acceptance letters will begin for spring 2019 in the first week of September. It's getting close!

Exactly, I have found that things always change or "go wrong", it is easier to just have a plan, stick to it, and try to forget the stress. Obstacles are a part of life and will occur, but keeping a positive perspective helps! At the moment I am not local, I am living in the Inland Empire, and I may have to commute the first semester, either from here to campus or from Los Angeles to campus (oh those obstacles)! And yes, if all goes well, we can definitely plan some trips. I am considering retaking my TEAS, in hopes to get a score of 34/35. Hopefully that will get me in for Spring.

Hi rroxoxobr, yes, they accept a chemistry course that covers those three parts of chemistry. My class was "Introduction to General, Organic And Biochemistry."

Hey Bruce, I tried getting in for Fall, but I was finishing my Chemistry prerequisite, so there were only a couple of spots left by the time CSUSM received my transcript--guess I will be rolling over for Spring! My main priority was getting in ASAP, but after some reflection, I really do like the idea of being on the main campus, especially because it is San Marcos. I am hoping for some future beach trips!

I am curious, are any of you considering entering an Entry Level Masters Nursing program? If so, why are you choosing the ABSN?

That's good news! Mine told me it would be done next week, so there is so hope! It's unfortunate my last class grade wasn't available until the end of May, it makes getting into the program difficult for Fall.

I spoke with my advisor and she said that if there are available spots, they'd be filled this week.

@ imtootired Hello, at my school I had two options (that I am aware of): 1)English 1600: Critical Thinking, Literature, and Composition 2)Philosophy 1520: Critical thinking I took these both at a community college, hope this helps!

Hello, thank you for the reply! Unfortunately, csusm does not have an assist agreements setup with the community college I attended, which is why I am left in the dark. If my Chem class is not accepted, it's not the end of the world, I'll just compete for the summer cohort after taking general chemistry or o chem

Hi everyone! I am a little confused about the chemistry requirement for this absn. Would some of you mind telling me what chemistry course(s) you took at your institutions that qualified for San Marcos' absn requirement? I took an intro chemistry at my community college and although it is an intro, it is not an intro to general chemistry, as it covers organic, inorganic, and basic biochemistry (it is a nursing track chemistry for ADN programs around here). I still don't know if it satisfies their requirements, and I am anxiously waiting for my evaluations.

As a student highly interested in applying to this program I would to know how the program is going thus far (I hope well)!

Thanks Jayrow, it seems that you have a very competitive score! As for me, I am graduating with a 3.84 GPA in cognitive science and my science prerequisites are at 3.81. Those points and the 3 points for residency put me at 66 (not 68). All I can hope for is to get some qualified volunteer time before the next application period.
