  1. Hello. Does anyone know the email address of CG's Sup? I have seen it posted here before but I'm having a hard time finding it. This is the one besides the main contact email of CG. Thanks in advance. :stone
  2. Agree. Any nurse would do as long as competent. If more experienced then better. New nurse, okay for me too, to give a chance for more experience and enhance the skills. :)
  3. After reviewing diligently MS, I highly recommend reading CHN book released by DOH. Some questions in Part 1 are based on some of the topics from this book. These topics that I have only known about during the review. Like functions of a nurse in municipal etc. But other CHN topics dunno what books they used. Do Q and A as much as you can. then pray to to have an by your side in the exams. :stone
  4. Hi. Here to add up some more info. As mentioned, NCLEX is being administered internationally. One doesnt have to go to US to take the exam. PEARSONVUE handles the administration of the exam. Visit Pearsonvue.com. In addition to London, England; Seoul, South Korea; and Hong Kong, last February 15, 2006, appointments will be accepted for NCLEX testing on, or after April 1, 2006, at Pearson Professional Centers located in Sydney, Australia; Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, Canada; Frankfurt, Germany; Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Chennai, India; Mexico City, Mexico; and Taipei, Taiwan. So see where is nearest and more convenient to you, I guess India? : ) Then visit the website of the respective immigration department on how to acquire tourist visa. For Hong Kong, an open tourist region ,you dont have to get a visa beforehand. A permit of stay of 7-14 days is given upon arrival and after interview with the immigration at Hong Kong airport. But it is farther from you, right? But then again, Hong Kong is a place to see. Hope that helped. :stone Peace.
  5. Hi, I am from PI here in SE Asia. Nurses here face different situations depending on the hospital they work at. There is a big difference in working in a public/government owned and private hospitals. But in terms of OT pay, I think its the same that it is too litte. From where I worked, OT pay for every hour is around 8% or more of my minimum day salary. I used to file every OT even if its just for an hour as to add up to my salary. Some dont bother to file an hour OT anymore as it is too low . :) But during holidays, pay is double. It depends on hospital or ward rules on who is to take up a shift of an absent staff. In our area, the person who has a day off the next day will take over the absents shift. We were forced to extend to 12 hour shift when we are really understaffed and have lot of unstable pts. In terms of nurse pt ration, it could reach to 1:50 for public hospitals. During my OJT at one of these hospitals, we were assigned at maternity ward where 2-3 new mothers have to share one bed. Nurses have to deal with this understaffed and overcrowded situation. One is unable to render attention and quality care to each of the patient, hence, one is not able to practice the ideal nursing care. Nurses here develop resourcefulness and versatility. In private hospitals that I've been exposed to maximum could be 8 considering that they are all stable. 1:3 for those that are in the suites so that more attention as what they have paid for which is more expensive. Once as a student we were assigned at the delivery room. All our pts are service/charity and all of them are to deliver lady partsl section. One pt kept asking for pain reliever during the procedure of delivery and episiotomy. The dr informed her that Lidocaine was already injected when in fact there is none. I think in this hospital they discourage these mothers to not get impregnate again by making them feeeel the pain. They dont even allow the pt to cry out loud. Those are some that we have to deal with.
  6. Hello, You plan to work in CA? Then you wouldnt need to take the CGFNS since it is not required in CA. Take the NCLEX instead. Visit www.rn.ca.gov for your application. Hope that helped. :stone :stone
  7. Good day to you Ms Suzanne, I am currently reviewing for IELTS. I would probably take the exam on the next available schedule which is February 11.
  8. I am from the Philippines, graduate of April 2004. I have six months hospital experience in ICU/CCU in a 300 bed hospital capacity. I will start reviewin for IELTS this Jan. 3. I have applied for visascreen but I am still fixing my problem with my birthdate. I have applied for an online account for CGFNS/Visascreen but after creating my account, my birthdate showed April instead of May. I am thinking of creatin another account since I have not passed any forms yet other than my application form. I plan to work in California. Do you have any suggestions?
  9. hello suzanne, I passed my nclex CABON already. Would you suggest any agency? Or do you know where can I find hospitals who would hire international nurses directly. Thanks.
