  1. Ooo your name is fitting
  2. I really hope that this isn't an annoyingly common question! I tried to search, but I couldn't figure out how to. I absolutely hate how this site is set up! (I've used the phone app forever, not acclimating well to using the site!) We are relocating to Jacksonville area (From Portland, OR.) for my husband's work. I am finishing my last prereq (micro) this fall, and was planning to apply to several programs in December. Ideally I'd like to get a BSN, but I'd be willing to do the ASN and bridge later. I did some research and was overwhelmed by the amount of programs that I found. WOW! We only have a few here! Can anyone give me any insight or recommendations? TIA
  3. I so feel your pain! I'm a SNA in clinical right now. This is the hardest work I've ever done! Props to CNAs! I don't think it makes you look bad. Go to HR, tell them its not the fit you had hoped for, then tell them about your long term goals with their company, then ask what you need to do to move into the department that will be the best fit.
  4. Hey, it will be okay! Just breathe. Update us as soon as you know, we are all cheering for you! You need a distraction for the next few days. You worked hard, be good to yourself!
  5. My story is a lot like yours. I agree, it sucks to need stims. I recommend reading "Driven to distraction", I think you will find great consolation that the majority of adult ADD sufferers struggle with feelings of inadequacy too. It's rough, but I'm really glad that you got yourself the tools you need to succeed!
  6. OK... This is drastic, but it works: mitchum roll on clinical strength antiperspirant. After your shower, pat the area dry with a towel. Roll on the liquid liberally to the area that perspires. Now the time consuming part,... You need to point a fan at your bum and spread eagle. It has to dry completely. It took a good 5 min for my underarms. Kind of a hassle, but you will not sweat!
  7. Hey thank you so much, also CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
  8. Thank you so much for your honesty here, I was thinking about doing the LPN program, looking at either Mt. Hood or Sumner. Did you do the LPN or the RN? I'm so sorry you had a bad experience! I'd love details once your account is allowed to PM!
  9. I had this really difficult resident at an adult foster home I worked for. She had MS, terrible bed sores, cath, needed daily digital manipulation for bowel movemts, etc... She was just bad off. She gave people a horrible time because she was living a horrible existence. That's not to say I never struggled. Sometimes she would get really abusive, I would excuse myself, step away and regain composure, then come back. Sometimes when she would get really bad I would remind her that I was a person too, that would help for a while. She was really hard... But she showed me a depth of patience that I didn't know I had. That patient is why I will be a nurse. Point being: find a silver lining of optimism to get you through. Then, come emotionally unload here, we all know those feelings well!
  10. ADev, it won't let me pm you. So curious why the LPN application rate is so low
  11. I get that... But as someone who struggles like OP with anxiety, studying more helped me so much with confidence, and THAT killed my anxiety. Repetition breeds confidence. Confidence breeds success.
  12. What made you decide against medical school?
  13. Hey thank you for the feedback. I was trying to decide if I should apply this year, or wait until next time around (and have micro under my belt), and ---------------- said they don't know how many points are competitive yet, so I wanted to know from the front lines lol. Would love to hear about your experiences and thoughts on the program you are in!!
  14. Does anyone know what a competitive point count is for PCC now that the nursing packet has been updated?
  15. I stalk a bunch of you guys. Isn't it strange how you can feel close to strangers because of shared ideals, ethics and passions?
