Diabetes and poor control
I have a student with similar issues. I have contacted her diabetic educator since she signed the consent form. I stay in touch with the educator because she touches base with parents frequently when I feel like something is off, and keeps them educated (on top of my own education)

Students Applying to SHSU Spring 2017 BSN Program
Huntsville, and yes! The program is the exact same. Each campus works together, has the same quizzes and exams, and has the same communication through professors. Next year the campuses will actually be merging together!

Students Applying to SHSU Spring 2017 BSN Program
It's sad to say that i am not happy with this program. It is disorganized, lacks communication, and doesn't function as a proper nursing school should. I feel bad for saying this as an SHSU nursing student, but it really is better if you think about going to a different program. Sometimes I wish i did.

Sam Houston State University Nursing Spring 2017
Don't be nervous!! As long as you have studied some you should be fine. I studied for only a week due to my own fault of pushing it off, but I still managed an 80. It's very similar to the teas study guide.

Students Applying to SHSU Spring 2017 BSN Program
Hey everyone!!!! Does anyone else's application say "not core complete" when it comes to what classes we've taken so far? I plan on finishing the last of my basics this fall, which is why I'm not "core complete". I was told i CANT apply because of this, but there must be a mistake. Does anyone else's say "not core complete"??? I'm very stressed.

Taking TEAS before physiology
I believe it's very possible to pass the TEAS prior to physiology. Everything on the science portion of the TEAS is in the ATI Manual, but that doesn't mean to stop at the manual though. Study study study study! Read over each topic, watch videos online ( I like Kahn academy ), and google anything you may be unsure about. I took the TEAS two days ago and it was VERY randomized on the science section, you really don't know what to expect! I had about half Anatomy & Physiology and half chemistry. Understand that you can still get a great score on the over all TEAS score if you do really well on the english, reading, and math, regardless of the science :) So make sure you know the other three sections really well also. Good luck!!!

Post your TEAS scores here!
Are you naturally good with the reading and english usage sections?? Those are my weakest points!! I seem to get them down in the manual, but when I took the test I couldn't pick out the correct answer for a couple of the questions because they sound so similar!!

Anyone currently prepping for the Teas V exam?
I just took the TEAS test this morning!!!! I only studied for a week and made an 80! I'm not super happy about it so I will take it again in a month!

Post your TEAS scores here!
I saw a thread like this but it was from a few years ago, so I decided to start a new one to connect with people doing the same as I am! Post your TEAS scores, tips on studying, manuals you used, or anything else you might want to add to help others and let them know about the TEAS V test! I made an 80 on my first try after studying for a week. I will be studying even more and take it again for a higher, more competitive grade!

43% or Higher on TEAS
Holy Cow!!!!!!! A 43%??? That's going to be so easy to do! I just took my TEAS this morning and made an 80 on it and only studied this past weekend. Don't worry if you can make a 43......you definitely can......

TEAS V Test
So I'm going to be taking the TEAS test next wednesday, (March 9th) and I'm SUPER SCARED. I'm going to be honest and say I've only studied about a week or so due to being extremely busy with the classes I'm in right now. I'm expecting I might have to take it a second time, so I'm just going to keep studying and studying until then. Anyone else out there taking the TEAS or have already taken it?? How is it? How did you do compared to how much you studied/didn't study? Any tips?

Sam Houston State Nursing Fall 2016
From what I understand you can apply even if you haven't taken the TEAS, and once you take the TEAS it will automatically update to your application. I also decided to apply for the Spring instead of the Fall semester.... so I'm not quite sure of how the application looks.

Neonatal nursing
I'm currently pursuing a BSN degree and have had a desire to be a neonatal nurse for a good 9 years now. I want to hear some input on some of y'all NICU nurses out there! What do you love about being a neonatal nurse? Any advice? How do you feel about caring for some of the most fragile little beings in the world? What are your hours like? I really do desire to become a neonatal nurse, but haven't really known what to expect in that division yet.

Sam Houston State Nursing Fall 2016
I'm not sure if my reply went through so I'm trying again. But yes! The previous cohort had an average TEAS score of high 70s low 80s. A competitive score would be high 80s. Your GPA is also above the previous cohort average, which was a 3.5

Sam Houston State Nursing Fall 2016
