  1. I definitely will do that thank you so much for letting me know
  2. I just heard back today that only some of my classes from Straighterline were accepted because Nightingale said that Straighterline doesn't offer upper level credits only lower level so like my Cultural Anthropology class from Straighterline did not transfer so that was very disappointing.
  3. How do you like the program so far? Are there any pros or cons that you would care to share?
  4. I was hoping to find someone to possibly share expenses with also. So much is still unknown so Im hoping that as time gets closer things will start to come together. I only paid to try to test out of the first one and I failed it. I only got 725 or a 740 ( I don't remember) and I needed a 850 with remediation or a 900 to completely test out. I wouldn't say that the test was particularly hard but it definitely wasn't easy for me and I usually breeze through tests. I've been a nurse for a little over 5 years and my primary job has been a school nurse and home healthcare so my skillset has been limited. I think for someone who has more hospital clinical experience they might do much better than I did. It's not even really a test that you can study for in my opinion and I didn't want to keep wasting money on tests that I had little chance of passing anyway. I was really hoping to test out because that would have been a huge savings of both time and money.
  5. Thank you, I really wanted Las Vegas also and I'm very disappointed that its not an option for us. Im hoping that I don't get sent too far away and that I'm able to afford all of the travel expenses its kind of stressful but I'm hoping for the best.
  6. Im from Southern California and I have officially been accepted and will be starting May 3rd. I just finished 18 more GE credits with Straighterline that I'm going to transfer in. Im very excited to get started
  7. I was just informed yesterday that the current semester is the last semester that Nightingale will be accepting credits from straighterline. I just wanted to post this info for anyone else who might be interested like I was
  8. I live in California and since I'm over 100 miles from any of their clinical locations I can be sent to any of their clinical sites but they try to keep you as close to home as possible. I was told that it would most likely be Salt Lake City Utah because that's where they send most of their California nurses but its not guaranteed. I was also told that Las Vegas Nevada was not an option because they were not accepting California nurses and they also had a waiting list for their clinical. I was hoping to get Las Vegas because I'm close enough to drive there so that was disappointing but I'm still moving forward with the hopes that it all just works out
  9. Thats great, thanks for responding. I sent an email last night and didn't hear anything back yet so this is good to know.
  10. Did anyone take any courses through Straighterline and successfully transfer them to Nightingale College? I'm interested in starting the BSN program at Nightingale College and I'm looking to shorten my time in the program by adding a few more credits before the May start date.
  11. Thank you all, now I'm just trying to decide if I want to make the 5-6 hour drive to get my temp license. I really don't feel like another 3-4 week wait for my license to come in the mail lol. I have already missed out on 2 1 of which I really wanted
  12. I took nclex on 9/22 and got my results today that I passed!!! My son was in the hospital for the last 3 days so it could have been sitting in my mailbox for a while. Good luck to everyone still waiting.
  13. I am a single mother of 5 kids and 1 has special needs so as you can imagine my time is very limited. It was 2 months after graduation that I was able to take my nclex. I felt like I never had time to study. I bought the Saunders nclex pn flashcards and carried them with me everywhere that I went. Always having some type of study material with you can really help alot because you can use any given moment to study/review your material. My son had several trips to the ER and I had my cards with me for the down time there also and the nursed where great resources also. My point is just find the study time when you can :)
  14. I'm also thinking that you must of failed your nclex??? Your post doesn't make much sense.
  15. Call pearson vue and ask for the status of your exam. When you left did you get a email from pearson vue? I know that every state is different but everyone that I know that completed their nclex got a email from pearson vue stating that the exam was complete and it gave the next steps to finding out your results.
  16. I did my california NCLEX PN on september 22nd, I also got the good pop up but I wont be happy until I get my results. Im going on my third week waiting and at this point all I can do is pray that I get my results soon and that I passed. Good luck to all!!!
  17. All of us from California have been having to deal with the dreaded wait for their NCLEX results/ I took my PN NCLEX on SEPT. 22 and although it has only been 2 weeks the wait has been driving me crazy. Some of you may already know this but I heard that California will be transitioning to the BREEZE system in January 2016. I know that doesn't help those of us that are currently waiting for our results but it will help others and I do plan to go back to school very soon for my RN so it helps to know that I will be able to get my results much faster. I pasted some info below rom the BVNPT website. ATTENTION NEW APPLICANTS AND RENEWING LICENSEES: AVOID UNNECESSARY DELAYS IN YOUR LICENSE ISSUANCE OR RENEWAL The Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians is scheduled to transition to the new BreEZe online licensing and enforcement system in January 2016. The transition to the new system will require a temporary shutdown of all licensing processes for several business days, and could result in delays in processing initial license applications, license renewals, and changes such as name changes or changes of address. License Renewals: Individuals holding a license from the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians with December 2015 or January 2016 expiration dates who wish to renew their licenses are strongly encouraged to renew as early as possible, preferably before the end of November. New Licenses: Individuals seeking a new license from the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians are strongly encouraged to apply before November 23, 2015 or after January 2016 to help avoid delays in license issuance. The new BreEZe system will, among other things, allow online license applications or renewals, allow payment online with a credit card in a secure environment, and allow individuals to track their applications. We will be posting more information about the new BreEZe system in the coming weeks.
  18. I'm in socal and my school gives each class 2 options. 1 is a traditions cap and gown and the other is most popular which was the guys wearing a white scrub set $23 and the ladies wore Dickies nurse dresses. Our dresses were only $22 because we got a group discount for ordering all together. I believe the original price was $26.99. I attended a private school not a cc but I thought our ceremony was really nice.
  19. Is anyone ever REALLY ready for nclex, lol. I asked myself that same question up until the second I sat in the chair and even then I was a fraction of a second from walking out. I think the only way to really find out is to take the test and see where you stand.Take a deep breath and go in with confidence. Best wishes
  20. It took me almost 6 weeks to get my ATT!!! One of my classmates called the BVNPT and they told her that we should expect it in about 2-3 more weeks and we received it about 3 days after, I was very surprised. There were no appointments to take NCLEX in my area for several weeks and I wanted to take it asap but I ended up scheduling it for about 2 weeks away with a 3.5hour drive. I was really not happy with my original appointment so I went back online the same day and by chance I guess someone had canceled and I found an appointment for just % days away!! I took my NCLEX yesterday and now I have to wait about 4 weeks for my results.....gotta love California.
  21. I would go ahead and take the NCLEX now. If you fail at least they will send you the report with your weak areas so you know where to focus your studying. The longer you wait the harder it will be so go for it and good luck!!
  22. I agree about ATI, it helped me a lot I also used the 2015 Saunders review book to study to the point where I knew it like the back of my hand. When you graduate as hard as it may seem, keep studying hard because it will be harder to get back into the swing of things if you take a break. Im sure your school told you to take your NCLEX asap after you get your ATT because the longer you wait the more info you lose.
  23. I took my CA PN NCLEX yesterday 9/22, cut off at question #85. My anxiety level is still pretty high even after doing the PVT (I swore I wasn't gonna do it, lol) and I got the "good pop up". I'm trying not to think about it, I still feel like it could go either way. Congrats to everyone that passed!!! Now for my 4 week wait for my results.........
