  1. Hey jm8459, I received an email about your post on here and wanted to send you a reply. I am a current first year nurse anesthesia student at TCU. They truly have an amazing program! As far as interviews go, I thought TCU had the best structured process. Last year we had two interviews with 2-3 faculty members each, and each interview lasted about 20 minutes. Even though the interviews are short, you can take as much time as you want to just talk and ask questions. All of the faculty were very kind during the interviews and they are genuinely happy to be there. I did not receive any clinical questions, I think they skip this because all the applicants have already proved their clinical knowledge by passing the CCRN cert. From what I was told, they ask everyone the same questions to evaluate your emotional intelligence. Apparently this is an area that can determine how successful you will be in the program. You can google more about these question types. To prepare for the interview really think about what you're pursuing, critically evaluate your strengths and weaknesses, and decide how you will be successful in the program. Practice answering the big questions, like why you want to be a CRNA and why the DNP. Also know the difference between the DNP and the PhD. Most importantly though, RELAX! They aren't trying to trick you, and they genuinely want to see you succeed. Hope this info was helpful! Best wishes :)
  2. Peppermint oil is God's gift to nurses! I order it STAT with clever descriptions for the indication. Just be careful to not inhale the scent too closely or you may feel 'high'
  3. Check Email!!! 10acious where's your clinical site??? Congrats!
  4. Well don't get too excited, but I called, and they said we will know by October 1st.
  5. The suspense is killing me, and I'm off work for the next few days with no distractions. I imagine myself being glued to my email account with q1 minute refresh clicks. If I end up calling them I'll post with any information. I hope we are all classmates soon!
  6. Bless you. As an ICU nurse I have been guilty of being judgemental of regular floors when I receive patients from them; however I now know that I could never handle the demanding position of a med/surg nurse. I am comfortable with the sickest patients coding all day but I have true respect for floor nurses that magically care for so many patients.
  7. Well at one point they thought my application was incomplete but it wasn't. They called right away and apologized. They told me that they lost some staff that used to handle that and hired some new people. Not really an issue just new staff.
  8. I haven't taken the assessment yet, but current students have told me there is only one assessment
  9. I was told they've had some issues this year due to a staffing change.
  10. Hey there! Thank you! I'm not exactly sure how I got an interview because my stats are not the best. I've got a 3.4 GPA and had a GRE score of 309... I only took Organic 1, but I received A's in all my Chem courses. I am CCRN certified which they don't require but other schools do. I've worked 3 years MICU. The best thing in my corner is that I've had a lot of leadership experience/awards. Best wishes to you as you chase your dreams :) wish me luck in chasing mine
  11. I just got one too for the 22nd. Anyone know anything about how their interviews are?
  12. It's so good to hear from others that are playing the waiting game! So do they notify about interviews by email? I heard they send a letter so I've been meeting the mail carrier each day... geeze now he's going to think I'm flirting with him!
