Bryan College of Health Sciences School of Nurse Anesthesia
I also had the opportunity to attend a program close to family. While it would have been nice, it really came down to which school would offer me the best opportunity. I moved to Lincoln from Utah with my wife and three children. I'm only in my first year, but I do not regret my decision. We have made friends and established plenty of support even without having family nearby. I'm not supposed to be to interviews until 11:30, but maybe I'll see you Saturday before you leave. Once you get to the school, there will be plenty of students hanging around with whom you can chat. Hopefully you'll get all the answers you need to make a final decision.

I really like Bryan! They offer a nice class size, tons of great clinical experience, and great professors. To where have you already been accepted? Interviews last year included a mix of clinical, situational, and behavioral questions. Ultimately, I would recommend the program. What day and time do you interview?

TCU CRNA program for January 2016
Well, I think I was one of the last 3 interviews. I think it went OK, but I don't know how they're going to choose between everyone. It seems that each applicant is so well qualified. On the other hand, after 110+ interviews I guess they get pretty good at reading people. Good luck to all!

TCU CRNA program for January 2016
You'll do fine in the interview. Once you sit down and start talking it'll get easier. It's not usually as bad as you think it'll be...

I spoke to Bryan's office last week and they said we should know about interviews by the 18th. They also said that interviews will be held on the 9th and 10th of October. We're getting close!

Baylor CRNA Program for January 2016
I feel about the same as you do. While I don't think my interviews went poorly, I haven't talked to anyone who didn't feel "OK" about them overall. This selection is going to be close. It would be very difficult to be on the interviewing committee and have to pick 15 from the 39 interviewed. Everyone who interviewed was so capable! At this point, I feel fortunate to have been invited to Baylor.

Best route to take to become a CRNA
The University that I attended required that you apply for a 2-year ADN program and then apply for the 1-year BSN completion program. This is the route I took. After my first year of nursing school I was hired in a hospital as an LPN as a float nurse. Because of this experience, I was immediately hired into the ICU as an RN while I completed my BSN. I now have two years of ICU experience as I apply for CRNA school. For my situation, getting my ADN first allowed me to start getting ICU experience early on.

I'm submitting my application to Bryan today. I'm excited to see if I get an interview. aerorunner80, just keep on applying until you get in! Even if you get an interview without acceptance, you'll be better prepared for the next one. Every application you will be a little bit better.

LPN - Anesthesia Tech vs Med-Surg Nurse
I worked as an anesthesia tech for four years and as an LPN on Med/Surg/IMC for 1 year before I obtained my RN and started in the ICU. Anesthesia tech experience is great but (at least in my region) sometimes it's challenging to get into an ICU if you are a new grad with no experience. Working as an LPN first gave me some nursing experience that allowed me to move right into the ICU after I graduated. Your first goal is quality ICU experience, so take steps that will lead to that goal.

I also got my email-but no interview. Kind of a bummer...
