Any National University students/alumni
Yeah that's kinda the impression I got but it was a completely different field and our students were vocational rehabilitation. Are they nationally accredited for nursing? What degree would you be getting?

Clinicals start this week!
It's week 8 and we start clinicals this week! I'm nervous, excited, scared and prepared... all at once. Anyone want to share about their first few weeks at clinicals? If you've been, what to expect, mistakes you've made, things you've learned, disappointments or achievements... if you haven't, how are you feeling?

Is it just me?
It's good to understand the basics of how each system works. And of course to understand the basic concepts you built that foundation on chem etc (Krebs Cycle). An important part of nursing is making sure that people stay hydrated, that they keep their blood sugars in balance, etc. It's really nice to know why that is so important, but so far no, I haven't been tested on it.

Is it just me?
My experience thus far has been a lot of hurry up and wait. It's tough because we are all type A to get through our strong science based prereqs, then we get into a program that is focused on people, not science. I'd say get over the control issues prior to joining nursing school. You just gotta roll with the punches!!

I used to teach there in the computer sciences field. I left because of differences of ethics between myself and the admin. I would ask for details about their drop out rate, make sure to see actual numbers in writing, and check their NCLEX pass rate (published online). What is the total cost?

HOW do people do well in Anatomy & P?
Oh yeah, and for lecture ARMANDO HASUDUNGAN on You Tube. He is awesome. Then, draw everything out yourself. If you understand the broad concepts then the science and chem comes easier.

HOW do people do well in Anatomy & P?
Wait til you get to the vascular system we had over 400 vessels, and of course fill in the blank. You will be yearning for fossas and foramens when you get to that section!!! I took pix of everything in lab and printed them up from my computer. I went through a ton of ink but got an A :)

47 pts is interesting, does that mean you speak a language other than Spanish? If I was you I would consider taking the CNA course to boost your points, it's one semester and give you an additional 10 points :)

College of the Desert Spring 2016
Originally the minimum accepted was 65. The highest was 90. Some people were accepted much later when accepted students passed up on COD and went to CSUSB instead. 2 were added the week of orientation (about 3 weeks before class started) and 2 more were added 7 days before class began. Ultimately they went down to 55 points contacting additional people to try to fill the 30 spots.

Advice please on a/p and chemistry
I combined my hard pre-reqs with easy online courses. A and P is very challenging. Chem and Micro were easier IMO.

Graduate Nursing schools with no GRE
Sounds like you have great ideas and goals in mind. I would suggest writing them out and figuring out how to achieve each goal and in which order. I believe taking the GRE will only minorly compare to the workload and tests in a master's program. I can only cringe at the amount of pharmacology involved. Eek.

- Fears and Anxieties starting out...
Wow! I just went on a lovely journey Googling everything from Cdiff to GI bleeds to neuro breath. I guess it helps to know that everyone has a little trouble dealing with some of the odors. If everyone has trouble initially then at least I know it's manageable.- Fears and Anxieties starting out...
So here I am, about to embark on this new career. I start the RN program on August 31, and soon after will be starting clinicals at a big hospital. Everyday I look at 6 huge textbooks that beg to be read and I'm somewhat okay with that. I think/hope I am prepared for the workload. My biggest fear though is hating the career because I can't get comfortable with the direct contact with patients. I keep looking at strangers around me and I think, hmmn, what if I just had to go put a catheter in that guy??? Cleaning up the fluids... smelling people who aren't clean, touching complete strangers. Believe me, I am not a prude and I can wipe up one of my children or if need be, could do so for my husband or mother or father without too much of a cringe. I hope that this part of nursing is just something that you get more comfortable with. Does anyone have any insight or encouragement? Feel free to add your own fears or anxieties or if you have overcome some, we could all use coping skills. TIA!!- Regret Leaving Nursing Too Soon
