Hi! Sorry I haven't responded. My license number was posted on the 5th of May and received the actual card 2 days after. I've waited 1 month from the time I sent in my payment.

I attended Hurst live review and loved it! But mind you, I did not use Hurst alone. I also did Kaplan, PDA by LaCharity, Saunders, Lippincott alternate format questions and NCLEX 3500. I read Saunders, Kaplan book, Lippincott and LaCharity from cover to cover. Did 6,633 practice questions in the span of 2 months. I liked Hurst, but they only tackle the usual disorders (DM, Glumerulonephritis, CVA, etc.) You will have to do your own share of readings for in-depth discussion of other unusual diseases. Some people pass using Hurst and some don't. It all boils down to the person who will be taking the exam and how much knowledge that person has retained. I passed NCLEX-RN on the first try. Did Hurst help me pass nclex? Yes. But a lot of review materials helped me too.

You can do it! Will pray for your success!! Before the exam, my husband drove me to the testing center. We arrived an hour earlier. Little did I know that he prepared a 20-item practice question that I can answer so my brain will be ready for the brutal exam. I didn't know that our friend who owned a nursing program advised him to do that. It worked actually! I passed with 113 questions on my first try. During the exam, once your computer asks you if you wanna take your break, please take your break. I only slept for 2 hrs before my exam so I advise you to rest well. Good luck!!!!!

I don't know if you'll see the picture that I posted. I made these calendar to see how I am progressing and also to see all the topics that I have already reviewed. You can also make one to track your review topics. I also wrote the rationales by systems. Like, I would always forgot the difference of high pressure and low pressure alarm in mech vent. I would just go to my written rationales under the Respiratory System. By doing that, it saved me a lot of time looking for it. ?

I used a lot of review materials. Kaplan, Saunders, Lippincott, PDA by LaCharity (I've read all these 4 books from cover to cover), NCLEX 3500, NCSBN and Hurst. I studied M-F for 2 months. I deactivated all my social media accounts and really focused on studying. I went out every weekend just to take a breather. I made notes from my review and would gladly send that to you if you want to.

I took NCLEX-RN on March 30 and passed with 113 questions. I, too, had a lot of review materials. Some people are good with only 1-2 resources. But not me. I know for myself that I need to have different review materials in order to pass the exam. I read 4 NCLEX related books cover-to-cover (Kaplan, Saunders, Lippincott alternate format and PDA by LaCharity). Also did practice questions in NCLEC 3500. I also attended Hurst Live review. All in all I did 6633 practice questions. I know it's a lot. But it really helped me in knowing my core content and test taking strategies. Oh and I studied for 2 months. I also got off on social media as it was only a distraction. I have notes that I can email you so you can review if you'd like.

I attended Hurst live class here in IL and loved it! At the end of the review, they have 6 sets of practice questions. Each set consists of 125 questions. They were harder than Saunders but easier than Kaplan. Their approach on how to tackle the different systems is really spot ob. But then again, they will only review for the well known diseases (e.g. DM, Glumerulonephritis, etc) so you must also do your share of studying other topics.

My QTrainer scores were: 1 - 73% 2 - 69% 3 - 70% 4 - 72% 5 - 71% 6 - 70% 7 - 69% I studied for 2 months with lots of review materials. I read Saunders, Kaplan book, Lippincott Alternate format questions book and PDA by LaCharity from cover to cover. I attended Hurst live review and did all their 6 practice questions. I also answered ALL practice exams in Saunders CD. Answered all the practice questions about body systems in NCLEX 3500. All in all, I did 6,633 practice questions. Passed on my first try. Hi! I'm from SE Asia as well but now working in Chicago. Writing rationales is really a waste of time BUT will help you A LOT. I reviewed for 2 months. Every time I am done reading and understanding a certain chapter, I would take a practice exam after. Say, I'm done reading Respiratory System, I would answer 100-150 practice questions on that particular topic. I also write my rationales depending on topic (e.g. Cardiovascular System) so in that way I wouldn't have a hard time reviewing. For example, I would always get confused between high pressure and low pressure alarm on mech vent, I would just read the rationales under Respiratory System in my notebook. I also made a calendar to see how I am progressing. One friendly reminder too, get off on social media so you can focus on your review and you'll have no distractions. Hi I'm sorry for the late response! The book is Prioritization, Delegation and Mgt of Care by Hargrove-Huttel. It is a free pdf file that I found online while I was reviewing for NCLEX-RN.

I actually did both. I attended Hurst Live class (and used Hurst) for content. I believe that in order to pass NCLEX, you must have a great grasp of the core content. I also used Kaplan. Their testing strategies will help you attack questions you're unfamiliar with. You may also want to check out PDA by LaCharity. THIS IS A GREAT REVIEW MATERIAL. Once you feel you already know your core content, try to do lots of practice questions. I did 6,633 questions before I took the exam. I'm not saying you should also do that but try to do at least 50 questions per day. I reviewed for 2 months and passed NCLEX on my first try.

First off, congratulations on graduating! When I took NCLEX-RN on March 30, the computer shut off at 113. I thought it was a really weird number to stop at. Was so worried then. Did the PVT 24 hrs after I took the exam and got a good pop up. An hour after doing the PVT, IL BON had my name on their website with PASS beside it. So yeah, it's perfectly normal to stop at really weird number and pass. Congratulations on passing NCLEX!

Your practice scores look good! As long as you master your core content, you're gonna be fine on your exam. When I took my exam (March 30, 2015 at 8am), I only slept for like, 2 hrs. Haha. Learned the following day that I passed. You should get a lot of rest before your exam. Don't do what I did. Lol. Wishing you good luck on your exam!

Don't rely on your practice scores too much. If you feel that you know your basic core content and feel that you're ready to take the exam, go for it. The longer you wait, the more anxious you're gonna get and the more it will affect your study habits / confidence level. Good luck and I'm wishing you all the best!

Thank you lillady04 and akomismo for the input! I've checked nursys.com and my license number is still not available. I'm just worried that when I apply for jobs, they wouldn't find my license number online and would be the cause of them not offering me the position.

Hi! I just took NCLEX on Monday and learned the following day that I passed. I have already sent in the $50 fee today (April 2). I have a line up of jobs that I want to apply to. Can I do that while waiting for my license number? Can I put License Number Pending on my resume?

That was how I felt like when I started answering PDA. I got horrible scores the first few topics. Then I got the hang of it and started to feel comfortable in answering those priority and delegation questions. Just keep on answering PDA and understand why you got it wrong. There's also another priority, delegation book that I got online for free. It has more questions than in PDA
