I work CVICU and am a new grad (6 months experience). I use Dx, PMH, Allergies, Cardiac, Resp, Neuro, GI/GU, skin, etc. (ex: family), IV, gtts, labs, today (what needs to be done for this shift, or leftovers from the day shift). Works for me.

I found out today that I passed too with 75 questions! Kaplan was the best preparation in my opinion. Saunders was too easy but a good starter to study, especially the content portions. I also believe in confidence and prayer!!
According to my Leadership & Management class, LPNs cannot do the big initial assessment (but can do like ongoing), no IV meds, no admitting/discharging pts. Now that is what the class says, but have I seen LPNs do all of these & functioning ...
