  1. I am a current student in the FNP program.I do not recommend it. I have heard great things about Brenau.
  2. Where I work now, we have to have ACLS and PALS b/c the CRNAs are contract and supposedly not responsible like we are if the patient codes?
  3. So true. Outside the heart room they seem useless...
  4. I recently had a fight with a particular rep. This one tried to take over my room, and point out my mistakes. I began memorizing what they brought in for cases, and they hated it. They got themselves in trouble because they sabatoged me on purpose bringing the wrong equipment in the room. They were kicked out for 6 mos and replaced..
  5. We feel the same way. They are not allowed to open, so at least you can stop them from that..
  6. Thank you
  7. Anyone??
  8. Travel nursing is the way to go. They will take almost anybody. Night shift as well, and Med Surg nights, will no doubt take you. In the future, if you have a hard time again, consider PRN when you can “read the writing on the wall”. Also, resume counseling and job interview practice.
  9. Read the latest book by Berry and Kohn’s. That way if someone tries to trick you or bully you, you will know if it is right or wrong. Get your CNOR as soon as possible too.
  10. There is a scrub tech that takes every opportunity to micromanage me in front of OR staff during a case. She also goes to the manager and tells lies about me with the goal of undermining my work and abilities. She seems to have their support. What can I do?
  11. I love Epic!
  12. Any info. On other ORs in the Atl metro area??
  13. You should try a nursing home first, or think about working at a small critical access facility if possible. It sounds like you are in a facility where the nurses are under a lot of stress, and need CNAs to be experienced with tough skin and stomachs. Maybe you should work up to something like you are doing now, instead of starting there.
  14. Yes. In psych, you can forget it. You will be called everything. Usually these patients are very unhappy and not thinking straight. Many were put down and humiliated themselves by their own family. So they do the same to others. "I feel small, so I need to make someone else feel small so that I can feel more powerful" " I know, I can call her a "n" or fat bleep, bleep... I feel sorry for these people and don't take it personally..
  15. What happened in the end? I also had to document because of a situation like this. Horrible!
  16. You need the ICU to get into the CRNA program. Just don't spend too much time in step-down...
  17. Wyoming is friendly!
  18. Can any travelers recommend any good operating rooms you have traveled to? I just want to work with surgeons that are still human. Looking in Colorado,Wyoming, Georgia, Tennessee etc. Thank you!
  19. Wow! Thanks for the tip. Did you think you were going to work in the OR?
  20. Level 2 trauma center, but they call in nurses 30 minutes before close of surgery...no one is in PACU all night..
  21. I was also told that the coach told the supervisors to watch me. I wish the coaching was about how to handle being bullied by doctors, and nurses, when no one else will do anything.
