Need some advice/opinions please!!
I am quite experienced - they gave me a few weeks orientation basically so I could understand the different equipment, where stuff is and to get to know some of the many docs. I have worked in the OR for sometime - just at a much smaller facility. I have been in my own room pretty much since the 2nd month there. I think that after some opinions - I may just wait and give notice and see what transpires at that time. I am thinking they may work with me to get some of my shifts covered. They are bringing more people on board soon anyway.

Telling an employer you have to go PT from FT
Thanks all for the advice! I may just resign and take time off -possibly work PRN at former employer. I am an experienced nurse so luckily have options!

Telling an employer you have to go PT from FT
My situation is that I just started a new position in the OR in Dec. Just coming off my brief orientation and about to start my first 8 week cycle on the schedule. I just found out that my husband and I are relocating as of the summer amongst many other life changes! So as of the next schedule - (May) - I will have to go PT or possibly even PRN. We have to sell our house, find a new house thousands of miles away, plan a move for us and for our son who is going to college. Lots will be happening so I cannot be so locked in on a schedule as I will have to travel to house hunt and possibly interview for a new job! My question is how soon would you say something? I don't want them to count on me for next schedule and beyond - I already feel horrible and guilty giving the impression I will be around long term. I also realize it is hard to find experienced people and it takes time to train. So trying to be considerate and honest! Thanks!

Need some advice/opinions please!!
I just started a position in the OR of a large hospital the beginning of Dec. I recently found out that my hubby and I will be relocating over the summer. Next week begins a new schedule in which I am full-time. I will need to go PT or maybe even PRN as of next schedule. My question is when should I talk to manager about making this change. It has to be done since I have so much going on as of May/June. I know how long it takes to train OR nurses and also know there are others planning on being out around that time. I just don't want to be put on next schedule FT and have them scramble. Please help - I feel so awful and stressed while at work because I feel like I am hiding stuff!

New to OR -need advice -arrogant rude surgeon
Have been in OR for about 3 weeks as a circulator. Really do love it and the majority of the docs/surgeons are great. There is one that makes me feel completely inadequate and is just down right rude to me. I was in a hurry to get back to a pt and accidentally walked in front of him and he just stood there looking at me like I was stupid -I said excuse me -sorry and he says sarcastically excuse me! Another nurse saw the exchange and later said he was out of line. He also has little temper tantrums if things go wrong and somehow always manages to make me feel like it was my fault. I don't know if he does not realize how new I am or if he is just that much of an arrogant jerk! Any time I ask him a question-he just looks at me like I am stupid and won't answer. If the behavior continues w/him -what would be the best course of action? Confront him or go to my manager? Or just ignore till I build a rapir w/him?
