I am a CMA
It is a 13% raise (2 dollars on top of 15) - if you are able to work during your program and are able to pay as you go it would be worth it. Especially if you are closer to the beginning of your career and will have a lifetime of increased earnings.

Doing Clinicals
In my application process I found that it varies significantly. One program had 5+ hospitals you could be assigned to (one was an hour away by car). Another program had different locations for accelerated student and generic bsn. I think it is helpful to check with the program but some my not have a concrete answer because availability changes.

Commuters- study time saving tips?
Finding ebooks with test-to-speech sounds like a great idea for any nursing student. You could catch up on reading while going for a run. Of course it works best if you are an auditory learner but it's better than having non-productive down time.

An RN who isn't good at math?
I have used this website in the past to brush up on my math skills: https://www.khanacademy.org/ It' a fantastic site and can take you from basic arithmetic up through calculus - whether you use it to study for algebra or prepare for the course. Hope it helps.

I'm failing out of nursing school
I'm sure you have heard it before but you have to speak to your professors. Either could give you a realistic suggestion about whether or not you would be able to pass either course. And you should have an idea too. Try to withdraw from one or both courses if that will allow you to continue with your studies. Good luck!

Has nuring school gotten harder?
I think that study skills might be the big difference here. If you have experience succeeding in a challenging curriculum you will be better able to find balance with your materials. I'm starting an ABSN program and I feel so blessed to have 4 years of college under my belt. That has been 4 years of learning experiences and struggling through classes. Even just starting my nursing pre-reqs it was a whole different experience than my first year in college. If you are used to being able to google your answer or skate by it just won't work.

What's the best way to pay your bills and go to school full time???
I have found that home care is very flexible. If you are lucky you might even find overnight shifts with a client who won't need much assistance and you can use that down time to study too. Good luck!

Oldest practicing Nurse?
Wow, very cool. I hope I can still keep up when I am that age.

Help! What to wear for CNA State test?!?!
For my exam I wore scrubs and sneakers, but there were others testing in casual clothes. A few people were just in jeans and a t-shirt. I personally liked wearing scrubs since I felt more professional and appropriate.

Want to be a nurse, just no butt wiping or other yucky stuff please
It's good of you to share this stuff. I would hate to get into the career without a reality check in the beginning!

Comfortable shoes?
I wish this were an easy question! I tried on the Dansko clogs but they were too low for the bridge of my foot and had such a heel on them. I can't understand wanting to work in a 2 inch rise? Maybe it's just because I am already tall. I also tried the Crocs Mercy but was between sizes. I ended up just wearing a pair of Nike running shoes. Now in my program I have to have non-porous white shoes! So I ordered a pair of "Dawgs" which may or may not work for me, I'll have to see.

HCC/USF new concurrent program
I'm not sure if this would be an option for you but Baycare offers a program where you can work for them while in the SPC RN program and in exchange receive tuition assistance. It seems like a great program with a guaranteed job after! It's just something to consider. You can always do the RN to BSN bridge program at USF when that times comes.

To Teas or not to Teas
I always try to present the best scores possible to any program. Of course that might mean having to pay again. If you think you could have improved try again!
