  1. I watched girls going back to get BSN. One would do everyone math online, one would do another class and so on. It bothered me.
  2. Christmas bonus! That would be nice.
  3. Just a question as to what other nurses and management think. How much mandatory call is ok? When working 3-12 hour shifts or possibly 2 for part time people what is a reasonable # of 12 hour call shifts. Most likely they will be worked but if not worked you are still on call for the day to be in within 30 minutes if called.
  4. Who decides if it needs treatment and who does those injections.
  5. And who would be responsible for injecting the Hyaluronidase in your unit?
  6. Who injects the hyalurinadase?
  7. How are infiltrated or extravasations managed in your NICU? Documentation, photos, notification of neo or a practioner, wound care, who can treat, etc.
  8. Yes in NICU
  9. Just wanted to get a feel for how mandatory overtime is handled other places. Our schedules are put in, then we are told weeks later how many call days to sign up for. Then even once schedule is started if someone quits, or is out for injury etc, we have to add more call days. Even flip flop to opposite shift. The 12 hour days are exhausting and adding extra is almost unbearable. If we are not needed the day we are on call 98% of the time we remain on call just in case with understanding that if called we have 30 minutes to arrive. Is this the norm?
  10. They don't. We pay for the continuing education. We pay for the maintenance, we do it on our time. We used to get critical care pay, later a yearly bonus instead, then nothing. We are advised to let patients know how much experience we have and if we are certified.
  11. People where I work are scared speak up. It you speak up you might just lose your job. If you speak up you might get treated worse than you already are. You get made to feel like you are in the wrong.
  12. Most do not harve for initial consultation.
  13. Ok I had heard a lot about unions in the northern states so I thought it state to state
  14. What states have nursing unions?
  15. Seniority, what is that?
