Are you in nursing school yet? I believe in Texas, when you apply to school they make you do a background check through the board and if you have something then you do a declaratory order. That at way you will know the boards decision and if they will grant you a license that is free and clear or one with any stipulations before you go through all of nursing school.

What are your stipulations if you don't mind me asking.

Hey left right! congratulations! I'm not 100% sure but I believe that letter means you are good to go once you graduate. If they were going to put any kind of stipulation or anything on your license they would have sent you something instead of that letter right? At least that's what I think? Maybe you could call the BON and clarify?

Hey BSN2017, congrats. I'm assuming you did the declaratory order before you started nursing school? Did the letter state that your license would be without stipulations or anything?

It took about 30 days from the time i sent in my finger print for them to send a letter asking for $150 to do the enforcement review. Then about 60 days after that they sent me my results.

Since you already sent off everything to the Texas BON, you will have your answer soon. So there is no point in speculating and stressing yourself out. The BON will send you a letter back soon saying either your case will be closed and you will be able to sit for nclex or they will send letter back that says otherwise like maybe stipulations or something.

Hi Heather, Was that letter the only one you received from the board? Did the letter say that "no further action is needed and your case is closed?" Did they recommend you any stipulations? The fact that it says you are eligible to sit for nclex, I think you are fine. It's about 120 days until May so I would go ahead and send in the paper application just in case there are any issues, you have plenty of time to resolve it.

Hi Ash, first of all good luck on your interview. You've done everything to prepare and now be confident in yourself and God. I had had a couple questions for you if you don't mind. If you want to answer on PM that's fine also. I was going through your post and saw that you went to ttuhsc. I am currently about to start there in January also and am kinda freaking out. Did something happen between the time you took your nclex and you being put on tpapn? Or did you know before you started school that they would put you in tpapn? i had some misdemeanors a few years ago but they made me do a declaratory order before starting and I've gotten my letter that said I will eligible to sit for nclex once I graduate and that no more action against me is necessary. But does this also mean that I won't have any stipulations or do anything else as long as no more offenses occur? any response would be appreciated. Thank you so much.

What does her letter say?

Same thing happened to me. I filed declaratory order and got a letter saying that it's ok and then 2 weeks after that got my blue card. Did you file declaratory order because you are graduating soon or cause you are applying to school? Also does this mean that when we finally apply to sit for nclex, that we will able to sit and have a license without any stipulations correct??

California is known to be super strict with DUIs. I think you will have a better chance in other states especially with all your supporting documents. You will have to put that you have been denied a license before. Are both of your misdemeanors DUI?

Have you tried another state? What was your criminal record?

Hi Liberty, May I ask why you have stipulations on your license? I read through your post and saw that after you sent in your declaratory order and went to the enforcement review, they gave you the all clear? Did something happen after you received your license? The reason I'm asking is because I also sent in declaratory order and got letter that I will be able to sit once I graduate. But was wondering if that's it or are they gonna review it again when I apply for the nclex and possibly give me stipulations??

What state are you in? I would imagine that the theft charge is a bigger deal than the mip one. Can you see if you can get it expunged? Also, in tx they require you to submit the declaratory order in most schools before you apply. That way you know if the board will accept you or not and you don't waste time going through school and graduate only to have board reject you after.

Hi, ive been following your story and just wanted to say that I am wishing you the best. I find it completely unfair that you are going through this huge process when all you have is a misdemeanor and over 7 years ago. There's still hope though that after all is said and done you will get your license and without stips right? After you sent your $150 to the BON for the enforcement review, what was the next step? They sent you a letter saying that you had to go get tested and evaluated?
