  1. Hi Crista! Congrats on getting in we will be seeing each other in the fall! Is it possible to private message somehow so we could actually get to know each other better? I'm also curious about the books we need for NUR 101. On commnet, it states that we only need one medication dosage book, but it seems to me that there should be more, maybe someone on here could clarify that for me. Lot's of luck, this is exciting!
  2. Hello and thank you :) I am registered to take micro this summer at MXCC and am going to Capital this Thursday to register for NUR 101. I also need to take a BLS class, which capital does offer sometime during the summer.
  3. Awesome me too! Orientation June 12th!
  4. Anyone else on this thread accepted at capital?
  5. ACCEPTED at CCC!!!!!!
  6. OR nursing for me :) I was an anesthesia tech for many years...can't wait to (hopefully) get back into surgery!
  7. I just noticed that they removed the link as well. Got to be a good sign right? 😊 Maybe we will hear before the end of the week!
  8. I sure hope it's next week. Did someone from the school you applied to say so?
  9. Registration for summer courses at mxcc begins April 6th--there is only one micro class being offered there and only 16 students max. I will be staying up till mid-night on the 5th to register as soon as possible!
  10. July 7th-Aug 6th Good Luck!
  11. I will be taking micro at middlesex and this class is from 9am-12:50pm I believe.
  12. I'm taking micro this summer as well--it's a month long. Anyone ever taken micro in this short period of time?
  13. I have A's in all my prerequisite courses but I still feel pretty nervous about the fact that there are usually a lot of applicants to compete against.
  14. I scored a 75.3 on the teas. I've been told it's a pretty good competitive score, but I guess only time will tell..
  15. I feel your pain! I'm pretty sure though that if you are accepted, you will defiantly have a spot in NUR 101. Hopefully we should be hearing something within the next few week--I read somewhere that the last class found out after Easter sometime.
  16. Hi Vicki2354, what school(s) did you apply to?
  17. Is there a specific link on mycommnet to check? Thanks.
  18. Hello, Just wanted to know if anyone has an idea of when Capital or the rest of the community colleges will be mailing acceptance letters.
  19. Check out the website Buffalo Rising | Your Guide to Buffalo NY News, Arts, Events & Buffalo Restaurants Nice informative blog about what's going on in the city.
  20. Buffalo has a much lower cost of living than NYC. You could live very comfortably making around $30 an hour there compared to $42 in New York. Buffalo also has a lot of new medical development going on in the city right now with the construction of new hospitals and the expansion of the University of Buffalo's medical campus. The city itself is also very much on the upswing, great summers, lots of winter sports, beautiful waterfront and if you have kids it's very family friendly--plus Wegmans is there, best grocery store ever! I live in CT and would move back in a heartbeat if I was in the position.
  21. Buffalo New York has a large and rapidly growing medical corridor in the heart of the city. Check out Buffalo General, Gates Vascular Institute and the soon to be built new Women's and Children's Hospital. Great city with a lot of new development going on--low cost of living, friendly people, good food and nightlife. Check out the popular Elmwood village or the new canal side along Lake Erie. I currently live in Connecticut and wish I could move back Rochester is another good city, Strong Memorial or Rochester General are popular hospitals.
  22. Are weekend clinicals an option?
  23. MissChris, what is your nursing program schedule like at NCC? Thanks.
  24. Applying to CCC 4.0 gpa A&P I: A Teas V: 75.3 Hope I get in! Good luck to everyone who applied!
  25. I am not advertising myself as having nursing experience in the OR; however, working in a surgical environment at a major hospital for close to 10 years, I believe, is a form of job experience in itself. I apologize if my statement wasn't clear--of course I realize that there is always an orientation period in a new role and I would gladly welcome the opportunity.
