Follow your heart. If you really want to return then go for it. Is that what you really want to do? Why not start a business?

Do you like home health? There may be an agency in your area willing to train you. Do you subscribe to any of the free nursing magazines? Would you consider working a part time business (I can help) and continue to network with other nurses about job openings. If you present yourself as a quick learner, someone should be willing to give you a chance. Good luck.

Nurses are wonderful people, full of experience. Can't you take a refresher course to re-enter the field? After 38 yrs I have decided to leave the field but am leaning on everything I learned to start a business helping people. Good luck and don't give up.

Though I am a female, after 38 yrs I am reinventing myself. My new business has nothing to do with nursing but everything to do with helping people. There is hope!

You will always use the lessons and experiences from your nursing career which is a good thing. I too am leaving the field (after 38 yrs). I have found another way to help people that is very rewarding.
