Nclex application expired after 3 years. Required to go back to school.
Can someone from Wisconsin direct me to the page or document where it explains how long we have after graduation to take the Nclex? I am getting pretty anxious about this! Thanks in advance!

When should nursing homes be allowed to evict residents?
The families that scream the loudest about their relative being evicted are the ones that refused to allow that relative to be appropriately medicated for their behavior issues.

Meaning of your username?
My username and my avatar commemorate the Victory of Lepanto known as "The Battle that Saved the Christian West." The Battle of Lepanto was a naval engagement taking place on 7 October 1571 in which a fleet of the Holy League, a coalition of European Catholic maritime states arranged by Pope Pius V decisively defeated the fleet of the Ottoman Empire on the northern edge of the Gulf of Corinth, off western Greece. This Turkish defeat stopped Ottomans' expansion into the Mediterranean, thus maintaining western dominance, and confidence grew in the west that Turks, previously unstoppable, could be beaten. The victory for the Holy League was historically important not only because the Turks lost over 200 ships and 20,000 men killed (not including 12,000 Christian galley slaves who were freed), but because the victory heralded the end of Turkish supremacy in the Mediterranean.

50 and making a dream come true.
I am 60 and I graduate next month. Each nurse has her own set of strengths and weaknesses. For example, I think that what I may lack in speed I more than make up for in patience. We all just need to find a place where we can make the most of our unique gifts. You can do it! Good luck!

switch from medical school to nursing?
Your American culture of hard work, honesty, freedom and independence needs to be given priority. You are an American living in America and you deserve a lot more respect than you are getting. If your wife likes her country's culture so much, why did she come here? Follow the values you were raised with and tell your wife to get off her lazy ass and get a job. Then sit down with her and draw up a budget to figure out if you can spare anything for her relatives. Please don't give up on your dreams of being a doctor. And work on taking pride in your own culture and values. Do you have any American male friends you can talk these things over with? I hope you can get this resolved before it affects your career.

Dress Codes for School
As a woman I am annoyed at the idea that I should modify my behavior to accommodate the weakness of some man. But how how can you not see the difference between: "men are biologically hard wired to look at women's bodies. " and women have the choice of how to dress? This is not an exaggeration; men really are "cursed" by their biology to flare up at the sight of a woman. I get it that progressive politics is all about what should be rather than what is but could we please take a little reality into account here and as women, shoulder the responsibility to be modest? Not wrapped in a black sack like a victim, but tastefully lovely in classic styles that emphasize beauty rather than flaunt lewdness. Perhaps if instead of focusing so relentlessly on what separates us, we could focus on our shared goals? Don't we all want our daughters to grow up safe and sane? Let's focus on these goals.

Bread making for stress relief...
Thank you for this lovely post; just what I needed today! I love making bread the old fashioned way. The whole process is the best aromatherapy and the kneading is good exercise and sensuous and a kind of meditation too. I am baffled by the fad of no-knead bread! The kneading is half the fun! For me the only downside to making bread is that I end up with too many carbs and calories in my diet. Oh well...

Ever work with people who talk about church all the time?
If these people are not proselytizing but only talking about the activities at their church I don't see how this is any different from people going on and on about their hobby or their gym or their kid's sports team or anything else. For a lot of people their social life revolves around their church and why shouldn't they feel free to talk about it? No one would ever consider telling someone that they cannot mention the high school marching band so how could it possibly be OK to tell people not to talk about their church's choir practice? It seems like there is a double standard when it comes to people being open about their activities if they are related to religion.
