This needs to be stated.
Awww, that was my favorite class. Don't even get me started on 4550 though, LOL! Congratulations on finishing up!

RN-BSN Program at Ohio University
It definitely has its quirks, but overall the 5 week plan for classes kept me focused. I kept saying "I can do anything for 5 weeks!" I felt like communication was an issue with my TAs. Replies to questions are not prompt, but they get to you eventually. I also took a final and their system failed; leaving me with a few unanswered questions. I emailed my TA multiple times to no avail. I had to wait a week or so to find out my final grade for the class, and never did get to find out my grade for that final exam. After all said and done, I am happy that I completed the program in just under a year. It was worth it to move forward with my education. Good Luck!

Help! I have no clue what classes to take, and my adviser isn't much help. Please!
I took 4510 with another class and decided that I didn't need to graduate another 5 weeks less, LOL! It was too much for a first time ecampus student who had been out of school for 10 years! I agree with everyone else, it is a lot of writing; however if you are honed up on your APA skills, it would be a lot easier to double up.

Vitals
Yep, practice practice. Keep in mind that professors know you are nervous, they have been in your shoes at one point. My first BP test was a complete disaster. My prof asked me if I understood what I was doing... and I admittedly nodded, then she said "relax, and try again." The second time was perfect, so just stay calm and you will be fine :)

If you double up classes, does that mean you can take your courses in any order that you choose (minus the ones that accompany your clinicals)? I am also a little confused on the books. When you purchase the online class, does that include your online book? I saw that hard copies were optional, and that book costs were factored into tuition. TIA for any help :)

I have taken the NCLEX twice and failed, NEED HELP!
It sounds like you have the wind knocked completely out of your sails. Can you set up a study group a couple nights a week with some peers, or even on lunch break? Just hearing actual problem solving will help you to better understand processes. Good Luck! Stay positive!!!

should i give it a shot
I have to agree that you can do anything that you really set your mind to accomplish! I also agree that taking some other classes will not only broaden your scope of education, but will also help you achieve a higher GPA by earning As in them. The classes you have to take are hard, but with absolute dedication, you can reach your goal. Stay focused and study study study :)

There is no such thing as a dumb question. But seriously, there is.
Wow! Just wow! ... ...

Has anyone else quit nursing for these reasons?
Well first off, hugs! That is not exactly a welcoming experience into nursing; but I think back to telling my peers not to "eat the young" many times. I have been a SAHM working on my BSN and now moving on to my NP this fall. Leaving my last job was much like your story and I feel your pain. I was being pushed into a DON position while 6 months pregnant, and knew that is not what I wanted for my little family. So instead, I was mentally broken down to the point that I chose to give it up all together for the health of my unborn child. I know that I was meant to be a nurse, and absolutely loved my job before it became... well crazy! So, just know that there is something out there for you; stressful but meaningful, and just the right amount of crazy that you can handle

Inactive for 4 yrs, want job anywhere Now!
I agree with the above comments by grabbing some courses or CEUs to show your continued interest in nursing. I have done some hiring in my career and as long as the nurse shows ambition and willingness to learn/re-learn skills, there is no reason for not giving them an opportunity. My biggest mistake was hiring a veteran nurse that was too proud to ask questions about new equipment. Go Get'em! Good Luck!

new grad RN to inactive RN. goodbye RN career??
If you feel that staying with this family is the best choice for you, then stay. If you are ready to jump into your career or financially it is a better decision for you, then let them find a replacement. There is no reason that you cannot still pick up a few hours with the family to stay connected to them :) Good Luck!
