Hi, I'm going to start nursing school(BSN) in a month. It's my goal to be able to get into CRNA school, and for those who have been through the process, it seems like the ideal gpa ballparks in the 3.5/3.7-4.0 range. Is this the entire undergrad gpa? Or just the nursing school gpa? I'm also concerned because I have two Withdrawals on my transcript from my sophomore year for the same core writing class in two different semesters. I don't have valid justifications for them besides that the first one, I was afraid of failing and not being able to apply to nursing school. The second, I had severe anxiety and decided to drop my courseload to 10 credits. How would this impact my chances of getting into CRNA school? Any tips on damage control for that? Thanks!

Thanks! I never really thought about it like that. And yea, I can't take any more degree required courses b/c the prereq courses for the other classes are the classes I'll be taking this fall.

Hi everyone! I'm an incoming freshman with a pre-nursing major. I need a class to fulfill my school's 15 credit minimum requirement and was wondering if as a Chinese student already fluent in Mandarin, taking a class in 2nd year Mandarin would weaken my resume when applying to nursing schools. I just need a class to fill the credit requirement and would like something laid back that would give an easy A, as I am taking other heavy-duty science classes. Would admissions view that as cheap and immoral or not care about it? thanks!

Hey everyone! I'm currently a high school student in California. I plan on going into nursing but am worried about having to go into universities as a pre-nursing major because I hear nursing schools are significantly more impacted in California than in other states for some reason. Is it true that nursing schools are more impacted in California? And if so, which out of state universities(preferably public to cut costs) should I be looking at that aren't as impacted? I've asked my counselors but just wanted some opinions from nurses. thanks :]

Hi all, I'm currently a high school student applying to colleges. I'm slightly confused about how admissions to nursing programs work. From what I've researched, for California state schools(csu's) you have to apply for a pre-nursing program with no nursing school guarantee and then try-out for nursing school with the whole process taking 4 years. Is this the typical process? I'm scared of having to go into a csu and not being able to make it into the nursing program because of how competitive it is(apparently you compete against hundreds for a few spots)... In addition, is there anyway I can get into a csu nursing program direct entry the year after high school?
