  1. I got my letter, they put me on the wait list, I didn't even know they had a wait list. My gpa 3.3 and I got a 73.3 on the teas.
  2. How did you find out by regular mail or email?
  3. I used to go to BMCC, now I attend city tech. Having the choice of what can be transferred is not something I have heard of before it might be new. I would call again and speak to someone else to confirm.
  4. You can take any classes over to raise your overall GPA, but the 4 prerequisites. I think for bmcc they are, English 1, A&P, math104, and psychology 101. If you have taken some of those classes they will take whatever grade you currently have unless your a&p is over 5 years old, then you have to retake. Also once you transfer your GPA is back to 0, so instead of retaking classes just take what you're missing and get good grades.
  5. They calculate the 4 Prereqs and look at your over all GPA. FYI, you cannot take those 4 prereqs again. They only calculate the grade you got the first time, unless your A&P is over 5 years old. Hope that helps
  6. My plan is the same as cedeakin. If I don't get in the ASN program at the school im currently attending, I'm gonna take the BSN requirements throughout the summer and Fall and apply to both programs.
  7. I am currently taking Stat during the winter break, it's 3 weeks but the professor seems great so far. For the Spring I am taking AP 1, ethics and psychology. I would do A&P stat and Developmental Psych.
  8. No, fortunately. They are in Chem, and psyc and a math class that I didn't need.
  9. I have just completed my first semester after being out for a little over 6 years. My last two semesters in 06-07 I had to withdraw due to medical and personal reasons. So I have two semesters worth of W grades, they do not affect my GPA but cannot be removed from my transcript. My question is, do you think I will penalized because of this? The schools i am looking to apply to are Lehman, Adelphi and others. Most schools have a policy of no more than one Withdrawal, but also no grades older than 5 years. Does the timing of the W grades play toward my advantage? Thanks for answering.
  10. This is a decision I struggled with this week. I am only in the pre-req phase, but I had to drop Statistics because I was struggling. I knew the class had to be dropped for the sake of my other classes as well as my sanity. Thank you for your story.
  11. Thank you everyone for your input. That is exactly what I was afraid of, but it was being offered so I figured I would ask here. I am looking into taking something else, or just waiting until Spring.
  12. I am thinking of taking A&P during the winter session at my school. The session is in January for three weeks, it's M-F 9am-3pm. Do you guys think it's doable? I would just like to shrink my course load for the Spring semester. I don't have many classes left before I start clinicals, and would like to avoid taking A&P and chem at the same time. Am I crazy?
  13. I was in the same predicament a few years ago. I switched majors, and started taking the pre-req's for nursing. It's up to you, but I took all of the English and History, whatever was general requirements for either major, so all I really had left was math, and science's. Good luck!
  14. This is my first semester since taking off six years after having my daughter. So excited and nervous at the same time. Good luck everyone!
