  1. May I inquire which residency site you were at. I am a PMHNP student and VA HPSP scholar graduating in May 2024. I am required to attend residency. It is my high hope to select a robust and beneficial site. The reason I ask is that I preemptively applied to 2 sites. One says the application cycle ends in January and we will let you know if we will interview you. The other site says the position is yours immediately, just say the word. I am a pessimist and worried that the 'sure thing' may be an undesirable site. Thanks.
  2. ?That sounds like my worst nightmare. I'm glad that it sounds like she finally got everything arranged. They already screwed up my scholarship start date. I had to fight for them to recognize the date listed on the signed "Final Agreement" document. (They originally agreed to cover my Summer courses but instead insisted that the scholarship did not start until the fall and refused to pay my Summer tuition.) Can't wait to see what's next. On a side note, when did they offer the residency sites? I want to be prepared and not get left in the dark. When does/did the residency begin? (I want to plan a family vacation.) Thanks so much.
  3. Hi. I am a PMHNP student and VA HPSP recipient. My graduation is May 2024. Just curious if you would mind sharing your wife's experience, now that it has passed. Thank you.
  4. Hi. I do not have an answer but am a VA HPSP recipient/PMHNP student. Residency is mandatory upon graduation for me. Any information about VA PMHNP residency is appreciated.
  5. I haven't heard anything. Just attempting to prepare for both routes and wish for the best.
  6. On the 12th at 2:30. You?
  7. Yes, I received a call that messages were being sent out today. I was accepted for an interview. Yay! Good luck.
  8. I will share with you all that I applied to another program with the same application deadline and have known my interview date with that program for about 3 weeks now. Not knowing this close to the interview dates is intolerable. Ugh
  9. I recommend you review the TCU message stream. It will be very helpful if you decide to go that route. Personally I love TCU and will apply for next year if I am not accepted into UTHSC.
  10. No. The response I had was that it was a very competitive candidate pool and they had no recommendations for me to improve upon.
  11. As I understand things: 1) DNP and MSN programs are completely separate. (I only applied to DNP.) and 2) recall reading somewhere that the DNP cohort is 20.
  12. I spoke with someone from UTHSCH today and found out that those selected for an interview will be notified "at the end of the month". Also, found out that the dates of 12-13 November are ironclad and not negotiable.
  13. I was wondering myself how much weight the online assessment had in the decision process. I'm not certain but probably scored low on EI.
  14. The feedback I received was nonspecific and simply stated that it was a competitive pool of applicants and there were no improvements to recommend.
  15. I received that same email. It will be interesting as I accepted a position for an out of state job starting that preceding Monday.
  16. Same here. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
  17. Unfortunately, I have no insider information of that nature. Based upon their published stats, they have an impressive pass rate for the past five years and very low attrition rate. Hopefully more people will see this thread and share different perspectives. Do you know when they start notifying applicants for interviews?
  18. Didn't get in. Good luck everyone!
  19. I applied to UTHSC Houston. Had some questions about my packet status. The CRNA program has no numbers except directly to faculty members who do not review application. Called multiple numbers and finally reached an admissions person in the SON. I asked about my application and this person was quite curt and stated that the website was self help. I made some additions that were suggested (I believe were outdated) and sent an email requesting feedback. Haven't heard anything back yet. Not a good first impression.
  20. Maybe that was their way of saying I didn't make the cut. : P
  21. That sounds similar to what I was told but it was 1 Oct and call if I hadn't heard by 15 Oct.
  22. Like bmack stated, it got easier once you started talking and not focusing on that you were being interviewed. I assume it went well. It's out of my hands now. Good luck everyone who interviewed. Of course, I REALLY want to go to TCU. I was extremely impressed by what I saw today.
  23. My interview is tomorrow afternoon. Wasn't nervous about it until today. Geez, I better not blow it being nervous.
