Nclex not as hard as I imagined
i am needing some advice! I've been studying ATI, doing a ton of ATI quizzes, i have 5 different NCLEX apps on my phone which i'm constantly doing practice questions on, I bought a Kaplan NCLEX Strategies book which i've read cover to back, I read the ATI leadership book, i mean i've been doing everything I can think of. I can't afford to buy a 300$ review program like Hurst or anything so i'm a little worried. Is there anything else that i need to be doing? :/ And congrats btw on passing!! :)) what an accomplishment!

NCLEX Anxiety
So I got a 74% chance of passing NCLEX on my first try with the ATI Comprehensive Predictor. I take my exam on July 7th. I have 5 NCLEX qbank apps that I have been using religiously and doing a countless amount of questions a day. I bought a Kaplan NCLEX-PN Strategies book that I am reading, utilizing the ATI website, various ATI books purchased during my nursing school program, and also the NCSBN website. All I think about all day is NCLEX and studying..doing questions..I can't sleep, and I can hardly function because this exam and fear of the unknown and the anxiety is getting to me. Any advice or tips on what more I could be doing would be appreciated IMMENSELY. Thank you in advance!

Thank You guys, I was really feeling down in the dumps today about quitting. But now i'm realizing it was the best decision for MYSELF and my nursing career.

Quit First Job After 3 Days of Orientation
and to let everybody know, I NEVER complain. But this job has had me sketched out since the first day.

Quit First Job After 3 Days of Orientation
yes it was an assisted living facility. but PSHH assisted living my BUTT! these people needed more care than LTC! it was not your 'typical' ASL. Which was fine, I became a nurse to take care of people all day. But when they think I can do it all myself as a new nurse is beyond me.

Quit First Job After 3 Days of Orientation
98 patients. no typo. serious.

Med Techs Training Newly Hired Nurse
yes, this is the job that I quit this morning. they said i would have 8 days of orientation as well and shortened the time to 4. i was not being trained by nurses and there was hardly a nurse in sight.

Quit First Job After 3 Days of Orientation
the orientation is way too short and they are SO understaffed its not even funny. they are wanting me to go out on my own after only 4 days of 'training' which has only consisted of med techs that know nothing about nursing, training me!! i feel so overwhelmed they want me to take care of 98 patients by myself, pass all their meds on time, assess them, dress their wounds, answer call lights, chart, count meds at the end of the shift..all on time. i got out of work hours late tonight because there was not enough time to do this all. i didnt have any breaks today not even a lunch break and still didnt have time to do this all. but since im still only in orientation, is it horrible of me that I called and declined my position there this morning? I feel horrible.

Med Techs Training Newly Hired Nurse
So I just started a new job last week, and they have med techs training me to do my job. They know nothing about the nursing scope of practice. They want me to do a med techs job and try to fit in my duties as a nurse but quite frankly, I found that at the end of my shift I had been too busy passing meds all day to do any of my duties as a nurse. Is this right, or what should I do?

New Nurse
Hi, I just started working my very first LPN job 2 days ago. I feel like i'm getting everything down, and the people training me say i'm doing excellent and learning very quickly. But I just don't feel like i'm going to be prepared to go out on my own on the floor in 6 more days (they only have orientation for 8 days). I feel like I am going to make myself look stupid. What i'm really needing I guess, is encouragment. Being a brand bew nurse is so much more frightening than I thought.

Job hunt before taking NCLEX?
Oh, okay..I aplolgize for the misinformation!

Job hunt before taking NCLEX?
YES! :) Most places will hire a graduate nurse, wether they graduated LPN or RN school. You will be a GPN until you pass boards. I graduated 3 weeks ago and have already been hired to work as a GPN. Good luck job hunting! :)
