CRNA, Anesthesiologist Relationships
I took USMLE step 1 and I passed it. Please do not make it sounds so mysterious. And I believe majority of my follow SRNA classmates can pass it if given that chance to go to med schools. They are so smart. They are all elite out from ICU nurses.

CRNA, Anesthesiologist Relationships
She has a MD husband, a pair of MD girls, and a MD SIL. She is the only nurse in her family. She is not a CRNA or anything related to anesthesia. I do not understand why she is so mean to other nurses and constantly comes here to attack CRNA.

Just graduated from CRNA school
I am 1st year student in a crna program. For classes, it is all about how much you understand the concepts. What kind of background you had before? What kind of questions professor is going to ask you in the exam (some asks question directly; others put very tricky questions that you have to deduct from ppt)? I had a strong background on research, so I only spent very little time on Biochemistry and Physics after classes. I even studied Pharm the night before Bioch/Chem exams, but I still made #1 in the class (I knew this because if I made 98, professor would give everybody a curve of 2.0. If I got 100, then there was no curve). I do not want to study so hard the next semester. A score of B is OK. I want to pick up some PRN shift (once per week. I do not want to be so poor. A man has no money is pretty bad). Is that realistic? Any advises are welcome. Give me some harsh words if you think it does not worth it. Thank you!

Should I resign or wait for being terminated?
This is an awkward situation, but I have to face it. I am an ICU nurse with 2 yrs experience. I switched job into a hospital and was on 6th weeks of orientation. I made a mistake by telling my manager that I was planning to apply for crna school and asked if she could write me a recommendation letter. Of course she refused to do so. From that moment on, she started to find my practice errors, and finally she found 3 errors and requested HR to put me on suspension. HR held a meeting for me and my manager to give both sides a chance to talk. I denied all these 3 errors. Two of them are untrue; the third one is very confusion. I realized that my manager knew I was going to apply crna school and she made the decision to get rid of me. She started to collect my errors. No matter how hard I worked, how much progress I made. There is no use. All the eyes of my preceptor and manager were looking for my errors. My friends said I fell into a "death spiral" --- I made an error, then management team are watching over me; since more eyes were over me, they will find more errors, which will cause more attention. Ultimately, they will find enough errors to send me to HR. HR would start their process. They asked me to hand in my badge and go home and wait for their further decision. I feel HR and my manager are in the same boat. HR listened to my explanation but did not write down on their notes. When my manager stated my errors, HR wrote it down. I am still in orientation stage. I do not have to worry about stuffs like FSA account etc. I do not have so much to lose if I quit the job. I don't even want to go back to work in the same unit since they gave me such a hard time. At this moment, should I resign or wait for being terminated? Can anybody explain which one is worse and will possibly affect my chance for looking jobs in other hospitals? I already started to send out resume. This is my first time to face such a stress. I have no idea how to handle it. Thank you in advance.

TCU CRNA program for Jan 2018
Your credentials look OK. What is your specific V and Q in GRE? They did not put on website, but if you go to their "open house", they will tell you specific cut-off lines for V and Q, and writing also. For example, UT: V 153, Q144, W 3.5 Baylor: V 154, Q151, W 4.2 I am not sure about TCU's cut-off line.

an ICU nursing book please?
Thanks for the replies. I have not taken CCRN yet. I called and left a message for Education department, but that Education Nurse never called me back (I want to see if hospital gives me reimbursement for my ccrn exam and review fees). Someone also asked me to check hospital ICU protocol. I may find some answers over there.

an ICU nursing book please?
I have been working as an ICU nurse for a little bit more than a year. I slowly feel that there is limited things that I can learn from bedside. A lot of things are just routine everyday. I want a book to cover basic ICU nursing (such as how to handle things like k 2.8, or temp 102, or bp 65/30, or trach, vent, and iv trips, etc), but also cover more advanced (such as patient after heart-lung transplant). I feel desperate to learn more. Any book to recommended? Thank you!

About prerequisite "Organic Chemistry I"
Also, I sent emails to local community colleges, and one replied me as: "The lab and lecture are not separate on our campus and we do not have a mechanism to separate them. We also do not have an online either." If I go to local community college to take this class, it will cost me around $56/credit hours. But I have to go to campus once a week for 16 weeks. It is 30 minutes driving one-way. This is very inconvenient given I work full-time.

About prerequisite "Organic Chemistry I"
Hi all, I want to apply for UTHealth CRNA program. They have a prerequisite of "Organic Chemistry I", and their CRNA program director said lab part is not required for this prerequisite, and online class is acceptable. Anyone knows any online class of "Organic Chemistry I". I found several online, but their tuition fee is around $1015 for three credit hours (without lab): Organic Chemistry Online Course with Labs: CHEM 1

Houston Area New Grad Internship Applicants for Winter 2016
Hi guys, have you received calls from hospitals for interview? Recently, a HR lady called me. I had an offer at hand, but she immediately offered a higher hourly rate to lure me into their interview. I did not ask, but I suspected that their candidate either might have a problem passing nclex, or backed out. Otherwise, they had no reason to call people for interview so late. Did you guys get similar calls?

Failed last semster of school
So sorry to hear this. I know what you feel. Nursing school is not easy. You have to be resilient. Ask the most informative people to give you constructive advice. For majority of students fell out of our program, they got enrolled into BSN nursing program somewhere else. A few had to start from ADN. If this is your passion, do not give it up. Keep your chin up.
