At my facility 60 hours biweekly is full time and anything extra we pick up is overtime and if they call you in its double time and a half. We always have hours available for overtime.

First Job Orientation help!
Yup orientation is the easy part lol, at my job they do an overview of the facility, a tour of the facility, different staff members came and talked to us, and took pics for our badge...it lasted 3 days and then we shadowed a cna for 9 days.

Day in the life of a 10p-6a Nightshift CNA please
I work 2nd shift 2-10, and we do showers, vitals, get residents ready for dinner, toileting, and after dinner is what we call the bedtime rush because everybody wants to go to bed. 3rd shift is more quiet, repositioning and changing briefs every 2 hours, at my facility 3rd shift has to charge the batteries for the hoyers and EZ stands and clean the whirlpools, and pass new water cups, may have a few vitals to get also.

Last chance to pass :(
Go over the skills checklist and read the frequently missed checkpoints from the prometric website. Look at yourself and the mirror and encourage yourself, you have to speak and think positive about this. This is your third time you know what you need to do. Keep resident safety in mind the entire time. Good luck I'm gonna pray for you.

First Cna interview
They asked a lot of questions! Lol what I did to prepare was google Cna interview questions and wrote down my answers to alot of the questions. These are some of the ? They asked me. Why did you want to become a Cna? what characteristics make a good CNA? What was my least favorite part of my Cna class? why should they choose me over someone who has more experience? what would I do if a resident fell? they also asked questions pertaining to my current laundromat job, how did I handle a angry customer? Tell a time where I wished I had handled a situation better?

First Cna interview
You should fill the app out anyway for the ones that say experience only...I read somewhere on here that some places just put that in case a residents family or a potential resident sees it.

Job leads for new CNA, Chula Vista and surrounding areas
It took a month after I passed my state test to get an interview, I find out Monday if I got the job or not...I just kept filling apps out every week and I still am just In case I don't get this job , I have no experience also and I did well in my class too. Just keep filling those apps out and someone will call, look into assisted living and home health also. What state are you in?

First Cna interview
Yea I have heard that if you apply in person to dress like your going to work with your scrubs on and hair pulled back. I finished my class in March and became certified the 19th of April, so it took about a month to land my first interview and like you I have no experience I actually work at a laundromat right now. I was also told to try Craigslist believe it or not they have a lot of cna job postings. Home health care and assisted living facilities could be a little easier to get into also.
