Hi guys. I started at USAHS in January 2025, and I'm taking health assessment and adv pharm. How do I find study groups to join?

Well!!! I would have to stay for me and some of my fellow classmates the hardest part is getting through Ortho/Neuro which comes after your 3 specialty rotations, so don't worry about that yet. -Start by making a schedule for yourself and stick to it. Don't procrastinate and don't say you are going to have time to read or do homework because stuff get pilled up and then you get overwhelmed. -Read, read, study hard and understand what you are studying. Nursing school's exams are not like A&P exams nor Micro. You definitely have to understand and be able to apply the information. You do have some knowledge questions but it's mostly applications. -Don't stay in study group that doesn't profit you, you'll pay for that. Pick your study group partners by your second to third lecture and choose people that look like they want to get something out of this. Stay away from chatters. Do not cultivate negativity.... -Read before class and before meeting with your study group and do not read in study group instead study, explain and try to understand concepts together. -Come to class ready with all your updated papers in order. Read your book and if there is discrepancies between what teacher says and book, point it out and get clarification on it. -Practice skills in lab and know steps and reasons of doing them. -Lastly, you are the only person you truly knows yourself so do what's best for you and be ready to work hard. The program didn't get hard for me until Ortho/Neuro. English is my second language too, I'm still new in the states, but I'm doing well. I'm scheduled to graduate in August. Don't worry you can do it. Just man up:yes::)

Hey guys!!! Congrats on choosing nursing a a career. BC is one of the best school to obtain your ASN from, however you have to make a lot of sacrifices to make it through. I'm a senior student and I can say it is hard, real hard but doable at the same time. I know some people will tell you that they worked throughout the program, but most of them had to stop at some point because the load of stuff we have to do is just crazy.

Started with 110 last August now we're left with 30-40 in my group. North campus.

It is hard at BC but it is also doable. I'm taking OB now 2nd specialty. Our tests are NCLEX style: computer and can't go back 66 questions 80 mns a bunch of select all that apply and at least 5 math questions but I'm loving it. I luv OB :):) all you have to do is study, understand the material, dig into it and be able to apply. Get yourself a NCLEX book like Saunders and practice questions to get use to critical thinking.

Math is not hard but you have to follow every single rounding rule there's on the sheet and everything that the teacher will tell you to do. Don't argue, don't talk about your old ways of resolving the problems even if you get the same answer. Use her way, know how to round and you should be fine. Your first lectures should be on Vitals, Health assessment, Nursing process, so go ahead and read as much as you can.

I don't really remember but we'll still have to spend the first two weeks going both days on campus. Maybe then they will tell us.

North campus dean said the uniform is scrubs, and we can only wear polos almost at the end of the program or if our teachers allow us to come with it. So go with scrubs.

What is that? And why are we supposed to purchase it? I've never heard about this extra money thing?

Men those books are expensive!!!! They don't have any penlight at the bookstore.

Do you guys think we really need the nursing kit (blue bag)?

24 days before school finally starts and once it does, it's no game. Hope everybody's doing fine with folders and enjoy your vakay before it's too late...breathe, pray and study: my motto for the upcoming days. Wbu?

I bought a nice long pair of white socks with support at a uniform place on plantation(broward blvd and 70th street) you can check it out if you want. Socks have to be white remember. Oh! They also sell shoes like nursemates and dansko. To anybody who already took the flu shot, where did you go for it because I called a couple walgreens they said they don't have it available.

Regarding working or not during the program, I'll say it depends on your dedication, your financials, and what you wanna do after nursing school. If you wanna go to a graduate school after your BSN for either CRNA, NP,or midwifery, you have to make some sacrifices because those schools want you to have a certain GPA to get in. For instance, to get into a CRNA or NP school you need 3.5 and up, for midwife it's 3.0 and up. It is very very competitive out there.
