First of all thank you for taking time to read this! It really does mean a lot to get all the information and advice I can get. As of right now I currently have my CNA and I am turning 21 this year. I am trying to figure out what the best option for me to continue my education and some concern as well is not paying off student loans forever and a day. I am looking into a Community College that currently has a two year wait list, with a chance of being pulled off the wait list before two years is up, for my RN degree. I would finish two classes I have left to take in the Fall 2014 and be put on the wait list as soon as I get my final grades for those classes. So Spring 2014 would start my wait to get into this program. This program will cost about $5,000 maybe a little more but not to much this including the price of the two classes I have left to take. The second school is a Nursing school. I would have to complete more Gen Ed classes which would put me in this Nursing School either Fall 2015 or Spring 2016. Coming out of this program I would have my BSN. This program cost over $53,000 this including the cost of taking my Gen Eds. If I was to go the RN route I would get a job as soon as I was able to out of school and end up going back to get my BSN with the help of the hospital because one I currently work at does tuition reimbursement for part time and full time employees. I am currently only PRN in the hospital so I don't receive any help from them. I want to receive my Master's in Nursing at some point in my life and my goal is to become a Lactation Consultant.
