  2. Spaghetti 321. Thank you for your help! I am new to the whole masters education realm. Lots questions to be asked.
  3. Anyone have info on whether WGU offers a dual MSN/MBA program? I have looked but can not find a definite answer ? any info is greatly appreciated! Or if there is another alternative for these degrees? I'm looking to save time and money if possible, yet have a reputable education. Thabjs for your help in advance.
  4. Hello! I really don't have any complaints for FHSU. The statistics was very challenging so I opted to take it at a local community college with a in classroom approach. Otherwise the criteria for the BSN program was very manageable. I was able to maintain this while working 2 jobs and maintaining family life. It wasn't easy but I did it. Please let me know if you have any more questions I'd be more than happy to help. I live out of state as well and found the cost considerably cheaper than local programs. I completed my BSN in May 2017 so their curriculum may have changed. Best of luck!
  5. I will be speaking with my enrollment counselor tomorrow and hope it all goes well. I wish I had info to offer you smartnurse1982, do you have any suggestions or advice prior to my conversation with my EC? Meammaryjean has been a phenomenal help for me maybe she can give some guidance on your issues? She works for WGU. Please keep me updated on what you find out! Best of luck!
  6. Thank you meammaryjean for your help! I've tried to PM you but says your box is full.
  7. I am wondering who else has had trouble with WGU enrollment counselor returning emails or phone calls to start the admission process? I have been trying since about Jan 23, 2018 to get this huge ball rolling for admission into WGU program with very little progress!! Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  8. If I could ask, what was the issue with the field work? Did you continue to have trouble with this? Congrats on your accomplishments! I plan to enroll asap for the same program. Just worried about cost and length of time.

Thank you for your guidance. I have decided to return to school for my masters in nursing education. I am hoping to land a career change and either academics or at a hospital as a nurse educator as you have described. I am just a little nervous with the pay cut as I now currently work weekends and night shift that in itself is a huge pay cut. But I know sometimes you have to give up to pay for a better schedule better quality of life thank you again for your help I greatly appreciate it
  10. Thank you! I will definitely look into this!
  11. Thank you for your advice. I am currently an ER nurse and have been for almost 4 years. I love precepting new grads and I'm always interested in learning new ways of patient care. I only stress the importance of money as I have two children that rely on me as their sole source of income and want to make sure I make the right decision and can adjust. Just makes me a little anxious to continue my debt with student loans and not sure how I can be compensated once I start and educator or education position. I do appreciate everyone's advice thank you so much!
  12. I completely understand that. I am just trying to make the right decision, a fully researched decision that is suitable for myself and my family. Thank you for your honesty it is appreciated!
  13. Thank you for your honesty. I was afraid of that . I guess you would change the pay for a better schedule it seems.
  14. Hello all I am looking for some assistance regarding nurse educator positions, starting salary, career outlook. I'm contemplating on returning for my MSN in nursing education and I'm concerned how I will find a degree where I could become a nurse educator either in the University or clinical instructor. I am also curious as to know the starting salary for this type of position? Also is the career outlook worth the investment? I am an RN of 6.5 years with my BSN obtained in May '17. I feel like this would be the career choice for me as I am currently in ER nurse and I am interested in teaching. If you all have any suggestions, information, or personal experiences I am all ears. Thank you for your time!
  15. Hi Mary, I've bee reading all these posts.. or trying to.. I am an ER nurse with my BSN from a different school. I have been a nurse for 6 yrs. I am looking for your opinion or advice on WGU MSN NE program. Such as, I see they are CCNE accredited, so this shouldn't be a problem with validation right? Also would future emoyers accept WGU program when applying for a job? Such as a university instructor? I too am trying to spend as little as possible for a MSN as I am already up to my eyebrows in debt from ADN & BSN. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated!
