  1. Hello, I'm taking Ethics in January. I think it's Monday for me. As for stats I'm 3.8 and an LVN.
  2. Oh and congratulations on this huge accomplishment! I hope to be in your shoes in three years!
  3. Follow your gut instinct when it comes to diagnoses and ruling out the abnormal. Your a nurse first and let that be your foundation. Order what is necessary and prescribe what the patient needs. If ever in doubt seek out a differential. There is nothing wrong with consulting with your MD.
  4. Just wanted to share that I will be taking Ethics and critical thinking in January at the mount :) Starting the nursing curriculum in August. Anyone else taking any of these courses?
  5. In California having your ADN RN is absolutely acceptable. I know many nurses that have found jobs with there ADN degree. Throughout LA county and in great Hospitals. Med-Surg, ER and in Surgery. There are also ADN to Masters of Nursing programs in California. I would look into that. Depending on what exactly you want to do with your Nursing career. If you have BA you can even apply to the PA program as soon as you complete your Science pre reqs. Good luck to you.
  6. Yes LVNs have to take the TEAS. If not with them you have to at least have a passing score on your TEAS from another institution.
  7. She told me don't jump up and down yet... So I said can I jump a little, and she laughed and said yes I would jump a little!
  8. Ok I just called, she said that it means I have been accepted into the prenursing program. I have to wait for a letter and it will have all the necessary information regarding dates. I'm just happy this has moved forward.
  9. Mine says Accepted!! Yay!! What does that mean lol?!!
  10. Good luck on your interview, be yourself . Goal_NP are you accepted into the LVN to RN program? Starting January
  11. Same here GoalNp...LVN and I need two classes as well.
  12. Congratulations!! Woohoo your future is bright. So what did they say? Do you still need to take the two classes?
  13. I still have my Chem pending. I'm hoping to take it in January.
  14. All I know is at the end, I can sit and take the NCLEX and pursue my CCN. How I got there and how much I invested in my career is my own business. My kids will be proud of their mama no matter where I choose to go. My patients will be truly cared for and I will be a responsible patients advocate. The end.
  15. Assh is this for the LVN to RN ADN program?
  16. It's sad to see the nurses here already speaking so negatively about others and their personal choices to go to school. Bottom line is at the end of the nursing program anywhere you attend, you sit for the NCLEX and take the same test other nursing students across the U.S take. You either pass or you don't. So ICU man unless your going to pay our bills keep your unnecessary and rather insulting comments to a minimum. At the end of my nursing program it's up to me to pass my boards and get employed as an R.N. Not my choice of school. I work in Clinic Administration and work with very well known hospitals and doctors across Los Angeles county. We all hire based on the candidate's skills and experience. The school you graduated from is not what makes you a great nurse. Good luck to you.
  17. I finally decided to do it! I'm 35 and a mother of two little girls. I can't wait any longer to go through the nursing process. I can't wait another year it's extremely challenging to be in a lottery or alternate list and just be waiting, I've kept busy taking classes for general education but I just am tired of it. So I'm starting January in Anaheim.
  18. Did you all take your chemistry class already?
  19. I don't know how it works. I'm checking the mail and the portal everyday. Good luck
  20. Nothing yet, I keep checking the portal everyday. I'm sure we will know something by November.
  21. It was bad but I passed that's all I wanna share lol I did call the school and ask them if they had my results because on the portal it has my test scores and it says accepted. So I wanted to verify if that score was eligible to make me a qualified applicant, and the women said it was fine. She said as long as I passed that they would weigh everything out through a multiple screening process. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed
  22. Hi ladies I am an LVN and I have a 3.75 in all my sciences my general GPA is 3.8 and I passed my TEAS. I am currently awaiting some news from MSMC and I will reapply to LA County nursing in December. According to their point scale I'll have 78 total with them. I'm really hoping to get in here at MSMC and be able to start in January. Do you both ha e your Chemistry done?
  23. Hi, I'm reapplying in August. This will be for the LVN-RN bridge program. It would start in June 2015. It was heartbreaking when I wasn't accepted for this summer cohort. However it was my first time applying to any nursing program. I now have taken all my general education courses and have accumulated 78 points total. I will be getting the extra points for applying again as well as for working in LA county as an LVN. Good luck to everyone that applies, my advice this second time around is apply to many schools not just one. Every school is different too they all have different pre-requisites. Make sure you cover all your bases.
  24. I will apply as well this term.
