  1. Hey Guys, After 80 or so applications, I got a job in a rural ER with 5 beds, 1 triage. I am concerned over the quality of my orientation and clinical experience as most our patients are truly clinic patients, and after 2 months, management is trying to rush me off of orientation (meaning there would be me and 1 other RN..EEkkk!) Luckily I put up a fit, and other nurses had my back :) so Im still on orientation. My orientation has mainly consisted of finding out where everything is, learning order sets, and asking lots of questions. I dont need "hand-holding" but I this is a much more "bare-bones" orientation than some other hospital facilities and I feel I could be missing out or potentially learn less. I am trying to apply to other ERs in the area, in hopes for some part time job that may provide me a more well rounded training. I have also done much studying on my own, as I want to get my TNCC in a few more months. Any Suggestions??? Thanks!!
  2. Has anyone been accepted to their New Grad RN Program or know anything about it? I am planning on interviewing there, as they offer ICU, IMC, Med/Surg. If anyone knows anything about KRMCs ICU I love to hear about it.... and rate of pay for a new grad w/no experience
  3. Did anyone ever see "Manager review in progress" Ive had this for a Bakersfield one for about 1.5 months so Im assuming its nothing to get excited about?
  4. Announcement: 2320 Registered Nurse (Critical Care) - City and County of San Francisco on the side you can view your applications I know this is a different application, but theres the idea. just use the link from your email when they sent an "application received"

  6. ADEcstatic, were you by chance given multiple options for which unit to work on, or are candidates only interviewed for one position? Im wondering how willing they are to try and place people in the unit they truly want to work on
  7. my status has not changed, let me know what they called for :)
  8. anyone apply to the one just posted this spring 2014?
  9. Haha ok! Good way to look at it. I just checked my status again and it said filled... one to the next one! Good Luck!!
  10. Did you apply? I did but haven't heard anything yet...
  11. I applied as well and am curious how big the cohort will be since it seemed like the Feb cohort so pretty large (40ish??). Im guessing we won't get any status updates for awhile given the Feb cohort interviewed that month (atleast this is what I got from reading the other posts).... Also how long will it be until we hear about the units they are hiring?
  12. Ok I will. Have you done any clinicals there / do you know if they take preference to those that do?
  13. No I havent!! I applied over a month ago, and am starting to assume I didnt make it. My app status has not changed though.... what about you? when did you submit?
  14. Can someone critique mine??? (Header and Address removed) Dear Nurse Recruitment, Please consider my application for XXXXX, as my experience includes 225 hours of senior preceptorship hours in Kaiser Santa Clara's Level I CVICU, years of teaching experience, and strong leadership and communication skills. As an honors student and member of Sigma Theta Tau International (3.6 GPA), my strong academic achievements provide me great potential to transition from an advanced-beginner nurse to a competent professional nurse. My performance has been rewarded by my preceptorship placement in the Cardiac ICU, the highest acuity critical care units the nursing school offers. During this 225 hour clinical practicum, my role as a student nurse has transitioned into assuming full care for my preceptor's patient including; medication administration, communication with the Intensivist and healthcare specialists, medical record charting, IV drip therapy titration, interpreting invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and implementing care based upon clinical presentation. I also provide for XXXXX, years of leadership and teaching experience in both nursing and non-nursing subjects, from instructing sailing programs for the visually-impaired, to health education and promotion for mental health clients. From my teaching and leadership experience, I have developed strong therapeutic communication, focused in patient-centered care and advocacy. In Palo Alto, CA at Momentum for Mental Health, I developed and taught the Fall 2012 curriculum for their "Health and Wellness" class. At Momentum, I was both a teacher and accessible nursing-based resource for mental health clients. My goal was to educate and further develop clients' support network through a dynamic and interactive class. The outcome presented a classroom full of enthusiastic clients willing to learn, ask questions and share personal experiences. From my academic, clinical, teaching and leadership accomplishments, I am excited to strengthen my commitment to nursing and develop myself in the clinical setting, and learn as much as possible. As a BSN candidate from a CCNE accredited nursing program, I am preparing to take my NCLEX June 2014. I strongly believe my abilities and potential as a new graduate nurse will flourish in XXXX community. Sincerely,
  15. also all these posts are 4 yrs old
