MSU Denver ANO Program
four semesters with summers off. The TIME thing is also something to consider.

MSU Denver ANO Program
I already have a bachelor's degree as well and I'm considering the ADN program at ACC. I see more benefits than none going that route. 1. it's wayyy more affordable 2. you can work as an RN and do a BSN bridge program...that way you are making money and have the potential of having an employer pay for your schooling. Just a thought though! :)

I don't think they will. :/ If you like ACC, how come you don't want to apply to their ADN program?

What are some good nursing schools in Colrado?
I worked with a Professor from CU and she said it really does not matter where you go, as long as their program is accredited. DSN is vastly becoming one of the top schools here in Denver ranking next to Regis and UNC. I haven't heard very good things about CU's program due to their new infrastructure. So it's really up to you. If you have a good GPA, keep your options open and perhaps apply to all of them so you can decide which school best fits your need. i.e. flexibility, time, finances etc.

Yeah, but if you want to be ahead of the game, I would take patho before starting! trust me! I work at UCH and my DSN friends recommend taking it before you get in. If you don't take it, you will have to take it and your first two quarters will be very difficult. It's up to you though.

What in the world happened to CU Denver's College of Nursing??? Unbelievable...
OHHH...Gotcha.

What in the world happened to CU Denver's College of Nursing??? Unbelievable...
Klone, that is not necessarily true. I work at UCH and if you work there as a CNA or ACP, no matter what school you graduate from, they will most likely hire you. It's a matter of networking and getting to know the right people. UCH is also obligated to hire out of state new grads as well if they want to maintain their Magnet status. So implying that UCH considers UC Denver students as a priority over other schools is simply untrue. If anything, I've seen them hire more DSN new grads than any other new grads out there.

New grad in Colorado Springs
one of my colleagues was a very seasoned nurse and did some travel nursing across the country for about a year. When she came back to CO, it was very difficult for her to find a job! Hence to say, she did say that Colorado LOVES new grads! So, don't feel discouraged. I know that Memorial Hospital is down in CO Springs and they've recently expanded, so you can look into it! Also, the new Children's Hospital is down there too...Don't fret. You will find something fitting for you!

Denver School of Nursing July 2014 Start
Shel, I currently work as a CNA at UCH and since my department is not considered a "High Risk" department, a TB is not required annually...This really sucks!
