  1. Hey baubo516!! Did you end up taking the pediatric home health job? Just curious as to what helped you make your decision and if you are liking the job?
  2. Hello everyone, Just seeing if there is anyone starting RN-BSN online in March? Would love to meet fellow nurses going through the program at the same time. Nancy T

  7. I am looking at different online schools for RN-BSN program. Just wondering how the nursing clinicals work for online students at University of Texas Arlington. A few other online programs that I am looking at do not require clinicals for online RN-BSN students. Thanks

  9. Hello everyone, I just graduated nursing school and passed NCLEX-RN in June. I have been applying for numerous hospital positions and have not gotten any callbacks. I have a second interview for a LTC next week and I am wondering if it is a good place to start for new grads? It is the 3-11 shift with 30 residents. I also have an opportunity to volunteer at a local health department. I am excited for the opportunity to start in LTC nursing to build my time management, critical thinking and other skills. I am also worried that I may be in over my head and might decide to volunteer. Any thoughts/advice on 3-11 shift for a new grad? Thanks!
  10. I too am a new grad RN and passed NCLEX 3 weeks ago. I have an interview at a long term care facility next week. If hired I will have 30 residents and a 5 day orientation. Just wondering how you like the job so far? Did things get better once you got into a routine?
  11. Did you decide to do LTC or the hospital program?
  12. Same Here! I test wednesday and that is my biggest obstacle.
  13. I am taking it on Wednesday and in manic mode!! I have been using kaplan as well including question trainers and qbank questions. I honestly do not think my scores are high enough, but I am going to give it my best shot. Q1:60 Q2:57.3 Q3:63 Q4:68 Q5:53.3 Q6: 66 Q7: 60.8

Hi peds nurses! I am getting ready to graduate nursing school in a couple of months and peds nursing is one of the areas that I am looking into. I used to work at a pediatric hospital as an aide and have no problem working with kids. My question is did you start out as a pediatric nurse or work somewhere else first for experience before transitioning to pediatrics? Any thoughts/input would be helpful! Thanks!
  15. Congrats on your job! A lot of my instructors in nursing school discourage me from going into pubic health and this post encourages me to seek out my dream. Thank you anurseatlast and exnavygirl-RN for sharing!
  16. I am wondering the same thing. I already have a bachelors in public health and am graduating in may with my associate degree in nursing. I would love to get a phn job when i graduate but wondering if I need a BSN first.
