  1. Agreed houtx!
  2. Hello everyone can I get some input and opinions on how to answer a question like this "If you were told by your charge nurse to DO something that you know or feel is not right how would you handle the situation?" Thanks people!
  3. Sorry for the late post on this thread but wanted an opinion on how to answer a question like this "If you were told by your charge nurse to DO something that you know or feel is not right how would you handle the situation?" Thanks people!
  4. Wheww im glad to hear the schedule doesnt conflict too much with my current job. I work graveyard so this will be ok for me.
  5. Yup in for fall over here! Congrats Bree!
  6. Happy Friday people! Every time my email alert on my phone goes off I get so anxious. Hopefully they send out confirmations early in the day so I can enjoy this wonderful Friday.
  7. Just a but longer guys and gals, this upcoming week we will find out and then we get to wait for orientation.
  8. Tried to pm you but it won't let me, I don't have enough post it seems like, lol. Fall semester to answer the question though.
  9. Exactly! I was trying to post last night but my internet had problems. They are not allowed to officially let you know, however I noticed the sorted applicant list and saw I was top ten so I believe I'll be in fall class, and they said I have nothing to worry about given the points I had. That is correct about finding out 5/16ish when we will start and orientation is around the week of 6/16 and is 8hr a day for almost the whole week and is mandatory.
  10. As long as your paperwork is in order your good to go! Congrats and good luck to those that are candidates and for those that didn't pass the initial screening don't let this stop you from reaching your goals.
  11. Yes pleez do and inform us all of this great opportunity.
  12. I'll let you guys know what happens my meeting is tomorrow!
  13. Mt SAC does offer a type of collaboration with CSUF....I cant find the link but the program is called "jumpstart" do google search "nursing jumpstart csuf" and its the first link. This is new for Mt SAC and is probably why information is still not available on MT SAC webpage, however, my friend who is currently in the program mentioned it to me, so it is real, also he mentioned that there is an opportunity to get a guaranteed 2 yr contracted job after successful completion of MT SAC ADN program and licensing. What he told me is that this is based off GPA, classes taken, 3 letters of recs. and a panel interview with 8 interviewers. If anyone else has any info on these please chime in.
  14. No I actually live very close to Mt SAC. As long as u don't mind the commute for the next two years I'd say stay in irvine, it's a nicer neighborhood :).
  15. Yes I just got off the phone with the counseling dept. I have appt next Tuesday @ 1230. I too have to wait on one transcript, luckily I can go get it same day from Santa Ana college. Look like I know what I'll be doing today! :) I'm happy for everyone here that received the email as a nursing candidate, best of luck to all and hope to meet some of you too!
  16. They will select the top 45-60 and those people will start this fall while the others start spring of next year. As long as all your paperwork checks out there should be no problems.
  17. Good job eries I too received the same letter at 14:12 today!
  18. Thank you kynzoesmommy ! I only have to upload the documents, but have to ask them if they need my official transcript even if I attended mt sac for everything.
  19. Hi everyone, I've been a mt sac student for a few years and this new multi criteria based acceptance really excites me. I finished my pre reqs and hesi during spring of last year and waited for this time to apply. In these three years I accumulated 90 units of coursework, an AA, an EMT certification and also completed the honors program. I've been busy. I was fortunate enough to have received all A's in my pre reqs..i took chem and anatomy together then I took micro and physio the next semester. I don't recommend anyone on taking multiple high unit science classes that are pre reqs unless you know you can get A's..those are a lot of points on the scale for pre reqs. Take your time and focus on each class. This past Fall I took Mt.SAC's EMT program to learn basic patient care skills, and how to assess and treat common medical and trauma conditions. I just took my final this last week, and once my completion comes in the mail I will take mr national test. I am crossing my fingers that I can get into this falls nursing class...I calculated my points out to 88 I can't believe how hard it is to get into the 90's. I have a 3.63 cumulative and scored in the 90's on the hesi. So in thinking people in rhe 80's r going to be the competitive individuals.
